How about WR D.K. Metcalf with the 17th pick

GFAN52 : 3/13/2019 12:07 pm
Certainly has the size and speed.
Pass for me...
BigBlueJ : 3/13/2019 12:09 pm : link
Prefer Hollywood Brown.
I know its just dumb fan logic
AcesUp : 3/13/2019 12:10 pm : link
But drafting a WR with that pick would be nauseating.
Didn't he have a slower 3 cone than Tom Brady.
Brown Recluse : 3/13/2019 12:10 pm : link
Seems like a red flag, no? Change of direction is fairly important.

I guess we can just tell him to run in a straight line down the field every play though and catch the ball.
Fuck no

From his muscles tearing completely off his bones.

Change of direction like an Oil tanker

You want a bug body guy ...Hakeem Butler
Hakeem - ( New Window )
No
blueblood : 3/13/2019 12:11 pm : link
you need a guy that has produced.. not a workout warrior..
He's my 14th overall player in this Draft (not including O-Linemen or
Anakim : 3/13/2019 12:11 pm : link
RBs), so yeah, 17 would be a decent place to take him

figgy..
FatMan in Charlotte : 3/13/2019 12:12 pm : link
nailed it.

I really don't need to see a calf muscle explode on a 5 yard out on Regional TV coverage.

Steve Tasker won't know what the fuck to say on the commentary. "Oh, looks like he hurt his shoulder there".....
Regarding the player
AcesUp : 3/13/2019 12:13 pm : link
He can't run laterally and basically only ran a hitch or go route in college. Not really a fit here. He's a rocked up #2 deep threat in a vertical offense.
I would prefer the TE actually....
Strip-Sack : 3/13/2019 12:14 pm : link
at least he provides great blocking plus decent receiver ability....EE plus TJ would basically be what BB had in mind with Gronk and Hernandez....without the sociopathic tendencies of course.
No way
Marty866b : 3/13/2019 12:15 pm : link
Meltcalf has too many injury issues for me. Didn't produce nearly as much as his counterpart on the other side,Brown. I'd select Brown before Metcalf.

If that's the case, then yeah, buyer beware. I'm going strictly off of potential. He's a H/W/S freak.

and excellent hands. Be in the right place, at the right time, and CATCH THE BALL!

I am sure you saw him run at the combine, dude looked like a robot.
Yup all natural
figgy2989 : 3/13/2019 12:30 pm : link
Let him become a bodybuilder.
LauderdaleMatty : 3/13/2019 12:30 pm : link
His college production was mediocre. No way in Rd1. He will go earlier than Rd 3 but I wouldn’t touch him till then

What do you mean? I didn't notice anything when he ran except that he was chugging. Physically and given his attributes, he's similar to Julio Jones. Obviously not as polished as Jones was coming out of Bama, though.
No Way
chuckydee9 : 3/13/2019 12:31 pm : link
I would barely spend the last pick in the 3rd on him.. His team mate on the other hand.. I won't mind Brown, Butler or Harry..
He is fast running straight
Amtoft : 3/13/2019 12:32 pm : link
that doesn't work in the NFL. He will probably be ok because of his size and blocking ability. I think AJ Brown will be the much much better WR.
so we could have a WR
Boatie Warrant : 3/13/2019 12:33 pm : link
who should be a TE and a TE who could be a WR!

See Stacy Robinson.
He is really overrated
Peter from NH (formerly CT) : 3/13/2019 12:35 pm : link
Great physical talent in a straight line. Not the way the game is played.
No on any WR at 17
MojoEd : 3/13/2019 12:37 pm : link
Can’t see any upside to drafting any WR at 17. Right or wrong that WR will be linked directly to OBJ and anything less than Pro Bowel type career would be viewed as a bust. I cant imagine the pressure it would put on the WR not to mention the NYG organization.
Definition of a workout warrior
PatersonPlank : 3/13/2019 12:40 pm : link
Looks great with no shirt and on things you can drill for
Slow on things that are require more natural talent
Not much real production on the field
Rather have
BIG FRED 1973 : 3/13/2019 12:41 pm : link
Hakeem Butler ,N'Keal Harry or David Sills in the 3rd

AJ Brown reminds me a TON of Hakeem Nicks
No thanks looks like Tarzan but the production was pedestrian

Straightline speed is nice...
Dunedin81 : 3/13/2019 12:45 pm : link
and I'm sure he can block like a fullback. But he's not an elite body control guy, he's not agile, his hands aren't particularly soft, and he has injury concerns over and above the risk that one of his (purely natural, I'm sure) muscles just happens to tear off the bone in a non-contact injury.
I like Parris Campell's game
Torrag : 3/13/2019 12:49 pm : link
I'd prefer if he was taller but there's nothing I can do about that haha.
I’d prefer Harry or Butler

Devin white
Giantfootball025 : 3/13/2019 1:46 pm : link
And Ferrell should be our first 2 picks. Barkley, Engram, Shepard, are a fine trio. We could add OL round 2, then go WR like Boykin in the third. Just not in love with this years wrs class.

People say that about RBs all the time, and it's true. But if you've got ten first rounders and ten UDFAs your chances of finding an impact player at WR (or RB, or just about anywhere) are much, much higher among the first rounders.

Butler is ridiculous....And would be great in this offense. He isnt a finished product but his tools are further along then what some credit him for.

True. But there WRs all over the NFL whom do more than fine not lik Ed in Rd 1. People say RBs are a dime a dozen. WRs even more so. Top tier talent can be found easily in RD 2 and 3. Especially w al the favorable rule changes. Go look at the top 20 guys every year. Most aren’t first rounders. Doesn’t mean you pass on OBJ or Julio Jones but there are a ton of Sammy Watkins and Tavon Austin’s.

This team Needs OL, DL, LBs S etc. pick BPA. If it’s A
WR ok. The real issue is we had Reese and Ross who couldn’t find talent in at round and Giant fans are Leary if anyone picked after Rd 1
