Ok, so which QB do we want to draft this year

nicky43 : 3/13/2019 2:02 pm
I think the OBJ trade clearly signals we will be looking to draft a QB this year. I just hope we can get the one we want using only 1 first round pick.

So which one do we want to draft and why? I look forward to reading your comments. Thanks in advance.
Murray or Haskins

No thanks to the rest.
Actually, nothing’s really clear.

At least to me..:)
2019 QB Crop
Mike in NY : 3/13/2019 2:04 pm : link
I personally like Drew Lock the most, but there is nobody that I would take at 6 or 17 with the quality at DL/EDGE/LB/OL in the draft. If he fell to Round 2 (like what happened with Geno Smith), it would be a different story.
Murray
Nomad Crow on the Madison : 3/13/2019 2:04 pm : link
is the only one I want in the first round. Third round I would not mind Ryan Finley.
I think the trade more indicates the opposite
Peter from NH (formerly CT) : 3/13/2019 2:04 pm : link
build up the lines and get one of the QBs next year.
I expect Murray to go #1
Mike in NY : 3/13/2019 2:05 pm : link
He is over Lock, but I do not like him as much as Mayfield or Darnold from last year's class.

Not suggesting, but would you (or anyone else here) give a 17 for Russell Wilson?
None in round one...
bw in dc : 3/13/2019 2:08 pm : link
But either of these in the second...Finley or Grier (assuming Lock and Haskins are gone in round one).

I wouldn't touch Daniel Jones at all. I've really soured on him.

I'm finding Thorson and Stidham more and more interesting.

Haskins certainly seems like a very good prospect
BillT : 3/13/2019 2:09 pm : link
I don't really know how good he is and I don't think there are more than a few here who really know either way. He can sling the rock for sure.

That is a tough one for me. His intelligence and ability to avoid hits makes me think he can last longer than other running QB's. My biggest concern is the contract figure. Will he do well enough to justify using that high of a percentage of the cap?

In about two seconds! A pro bowl QB seems like a good investment for #17.

bceagle05 : 3/13/2019 2:11 pm : link
Haskins
Pep22 : 3/13/2019 2:12 pm : link
since Murray won't be possible without a major premium.

Lock acceptable too.

Not drafting one of these guys (or not getting Rosen) would be a 7.0 on the Richter Scale.

Drafting any other QB, particularly Daniel Jones with either 1st rounder would be an 8.0.
None of ‘em

I would not mind
DonnieD89 : 3/13/2019 2:15 pm : link
Haskins at #6, but I would prefer an edge rusher.
We’re not drafting a QB until we get Manning’s Nephew
Giants38 : 3/13/2019 2:18 pm : link
I’d love Murray or Haskins, but our idiotic front office is apparently going to sign Eli to an extension.
Quarterback you say?
MOOPS : 3/13/2019 2:18 pm : link
Take the kid out of Buffalo. Round 3 or 4.
LauderdaleMatty : 3/13/2019 2:19 pm : link
No one with any honesty ca assure me Haskins and Murray are true Franchise guys.

There are 3 to 5 true franchise guys in the NFL. IMO. Mitch Trubisky will most likely play in same amount of Superbowls as I have. That term is so Watered down its sad. Nick Foles won a Super Bowl and still the urban legend you can’t win without picking a guy in top 5 of RD 1 lives in and on.
I want Murray but if we trade 2 #1s to get him

I'm hurling the proverbial remote
None of them?
Matt G : 3/13/2019 2:22 pm : link
I'm terrified at the idea of Haskins at #6 or Jones/Lock at #17 or #37
I'd take T. Jackson with a 4th or 5th
Rory B. Bellows : 3/13/2019 2:28 pm : link
Start running the Ravens's offense. Who do you want to tackle TJax, Barkley, or E. Penny? haha half kidding
Murray

Don't think any
Scott in Montreal : 3/13/2019 3:11 pm : link
If they do though. I would want Lock or Grier (if he is there at 17)

Then sign Gardner Minshew as a street walk on and see if he has the stuff to be a pro QB and not just another product of Mike Leach's system.
If we snag a QB this year
mavric : 3/13/2019 4:18 pm : link
and wouldn't be surprised if we didn't, I personally like Jones. If he fell to us in the 2nd, I'd be elated.

I prefer tall, pocket QB's with a giant football brain. There cannot be enough said about the importance of a cerebral gift to that game of football. Athleticism is nice, but the problem with that is it's too easy for them to ditch the mental aspect of the high speed chess game and take off on their own. Those players are short lived for taking too many hits.

With a great offensive line, a 6'4" or 6'5" pocket QB can destroy a defense. Just my take on things.

I believe our first round picks need to be making a haul of this stacked defensive draft. The defensive studs will be well picked over by round 2
Jones in the second
BigBlueCane : 3/13/2019 4:20 pm : link
I think is the guy DG wants. just no to Haskins at all.

Your obsession of Jones is getting close to Milton's for Rosen.
What would be a realistic spor for Stidham

I have settled on him as my annual QB flyer.

Shit, I'd sign up for Minshew and replacing Shurmur with Leach.

Eli is the QB for 2019 for better or worse, and worse gets the Giants a better draft in 2020.

Because why keep a HOF receiver when your newly drafted QB can throw to Russell Sheppard?
I can see the first 3 picks all around the line of scrimmage.
BlueLou'sBack : 3/13/2019 5:47 pm : link
Then waiting to see who among the QBs falls to 95 or even later. Grier? Stidham?

Personally Id take Haskins or Lock at 6 and be done with it.
