No idea if the Giants are interested or if the Cards really are ready to move on from him, but if he did come here, would he really have to sit and learn behind Eli?
He’s had 1 year of warfare under his belt and supposedly began to improve towards the latter part of the year. Too, with Shurmur guiding him, could he not be ready for the challenge, sooner, rather than later?
it def seems this way at this point
Thank God. Please, no Rosen.
And they could be wrong on that. Who really knows..Didn’t Garafolo say the other day that there’s no way that OBJ would be traded?
It’s a hypothetical, so answer the damn question..:)
From your lips to God's ears...derp
Sounds like Giants aren't interested.
That would be the smart move if the Giants wanted him. Then Eli gets cut.

Hell yeah. More sub .500 seasons, please!

JonC and jtgiants have said several times that the Giants have no interest in Rosen. JonC said this dating back to last year.

I would be happy to take a chance on Rosen if the cost was a 2nd round pick. I was just passing along what's been said.
To answer your question I think one of the main benefits of adding Rosen was that he was ready to start now which would allow us to cut Eli and use that money in free agency. We usually see QB's take their biggest jump in production from year one to year two.
If we are keeping Eli, it makes sense to extend him and free up some cap room for this year.

I'll always love the guy but come the fuck on....move on already.
But the Giants are not going to cut Eli so its a moot point

I actually agree with this.
Except, Eli had mever started a game, so whatever help Warner may have passed on was most likely helpful..Rosen, however, already has played 1 season
I know the insiders are poo-pooing the idea, but if the Giants did acquire him I think he should start week 1
Why waste a year on the bench, when he played 13 games last year?
Would be a huge mistake.........you need to get him more experience, and most importantly, see if the kid can play in the league - and shows the potential - to be a top notch QB.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a qb who can run for the first down when no 9ne is open on 3rd and 4?
The question WAS NOT whether you want him here or not. That’s been beaten to death. Rather it was a very simple question:
IF he was here, does he have to sit a year behind Eli (if he’s here) or can he, should he, step right in?
Bastids!
I agree...JonC has been pretty adament about this

The Giants don't need cap room this year. There are no high priced free agents left, and even if there were, they have plenty of room.

You are going to be real pissed when they get Haskins

To answer your question....if we traded for Rosen BEFORE 3/17, Eli probably would be cut to save the 23 M. Rosen would not sit, seeing that he played all year....not a rook anymore.
Sorry for not answering your question and going off on my own. Me bad.

The guy started 14 games last year, why would he NEED to sit?
