John Dorsey on Odell: "Very rarely do you get a chance to acquire a player of this magnitude. He's at a relatively young age. He's got a lot of football left in him. Great hands, great work ethic, committed, competitive, he really wants to be great. That's all you can ask for."

Same here. Still in disbelief.
Best offensive player in NY Giants history.
To be fair, I think the best offensive player in NY Giants history is on the current roster.

fine....but OBJ was second best then. the guy was absiolutely dynamic. people forget the ravens game. dallas game, the guy took slants for 70 and a score to win. the guy is a special talent. one we prob wont have for a while again. OBJs arent just falling off trees.

Yeah we'll see. It's a throwing league, and Saquon's receiving skills are great, but still. A great RB is not necessary to be good. Can you say the same about WR?
Oh brother.
Another official moronic comment by you. Do just make comments to piss people off? He is going to light it up in Cleveland. Can not wait.
1) Beckham wanted more money after Brown got his bump with oakland. How big of a baby do you have to be to immediately want more money after someone else makes a little more? go ask mara for some money under the table or something, why do you NEED a new contract? ego.
2) Beckham, instead of doing what EVERY other player in the league does when interviewed(which is give canned "i love it here" answers) decided to passive aggressively trash Eli who has done nothing but throw that bastards way. this was AFTER the giants made him the highest paid receiver ever...
if we drafted rosen/darnold/allen he'd of done the same shit. stop fooling yourselves.
the guy can go fly a kite or whatever you old guys used to say back in the day lol
That was funny.
Gettleman waiting for the Commodore to boot up?

First of all, most of this is rumor. Secondly, if Gettleman or Shurmer can't handle diva WRs asking for more money, they're in the wrong business. There are ALWAYS going to be players on the team who think they should be paid more money and this is why they pay them the big bucks.
And none of this has obviously affected OBJs production on the field. If he is second to Brown as far as wide receivers, we should also take into account that Brown has played with a QB who is 20 places higher than Eli in career passer rating.
I can't wait to see what OBJ does in Cleveland with Mayfield. On top of trading our best player, the return was garbage.

none of you here have had to deal with multi-million dollar malcontents so please slow down on calling DG an idiot.

what part of that was rumor? Its true. Complain about the compensation all you want, the baggage can't be disputed.
I really think this could be a black cloud kind of thing that hangs over this franchise for years.
Almost 24 hours later....I'm just as floored as when I first heard.

If the baggage affected his production you'd have a point. I don't give a flying fuck at a donut about his antics, he won games for the Giants sometimes single handedly. Reese failed him by forgetting how to draft and he got sick of losing. Let's see how good a citizen Barkley is after three years of averaging 150+ yds a game and not going to the playoffs.
Best offensive player in NY Giants history.
Really? I hope when he comes in here the Giants rip his fucking head off. He is now the "competition" as Parcells used to say.

I was kinda hoping a defensive player lays into him with a hit......and we win the game.

The baggage clearly affected the culture this team wants. Baggage also includes injury concerns. He got paid the biggest WR deal and bitched halfway into the season. The baggage did affect his production - he milked his injury at the end of the year.
Gettleman waiting for the Commodore to boot up?
left the his notes on a 5.25 floppy in his other fanny pack
Mike in Bloomfield how about Reese failed Eli who won him 2 championships by only getting him a great WR and NOTHING ELSE in terms of a winning football team???

Who led the Giants in receiving yardage and TDs?
No douche bag, I was born a Giants fan and will die one. I can almost guarantee that I have been following them before the best part of you ran down your Mom's leg. I will root for him to be successful. I do believe he was mis-judged and I do believe he will be successful. I believe we got worse today and for the next few years over this decision. You do not trade Elite players unless you get a elite return. That did not happen. But, I guess it is okay for you, because it is not about whether we got better, it is about that your happy he is gone.
Best offensive player in NY Giants history.
Me too. The Giants have reached new lows and while I have barely missed a game in the last 25 years it may be time to skip out on the season. I do t have a desire o spend my money on this product and a new #1 wr in SS who looks like he is running through quicksand at all times.
...
And why exactly must they do something to generate some sort of buzz?
You disagree? Look at the facts, Greg. How many average, not even good, just average defenses has Eli been a part of here?
The answer is downright grotesque. You’re damn right poor Eli.
and in that time managed to get Beckham the ball making him HOF status.
give the fucking guy credit and then give him some more credit for not being an asshole and throwing his team under the bus!(i mean, outside of what he did to SD)

THat defense gave him the opportunity to win his first championship.
There's no debt to fucking repay here.
Best offensive player in NY Giants history.
Maybe you missed it, but he was eclipsed as best O player ever in Giants' history this past year by Saquon.
Who doesn't sit out games with questionable muscle contusions, and doesn't throw his team mates under a bus in interviews.

Start small here. Saquon hasn't even eclipsed Tiki Barber's best season.
Third all time in receiving yards per game of all players through their age 26 season. Tenth in TDs despite playing in 15-35 fewer games than all but one man ahead of him. Tenth in receptions, same thing with the fewer games.
You may hate him, but he's been obscenely productive.
You owe me $4.50. I just spit my beer all over the table. I'll send you my PayPal.

I've gotten over the shock of the trade and my anger/disappointment is waning. But, in my opinion, Gettleman has to hit a fucking HR up and down this draft to make this draft remotely work. However, I fear he will take the acquisition of the #17 pick to use #6 on a QB who is nowhere near worthy of it.

Even sitting out 4 games this year he led the giants in receiving yards and TDs. I could give a flying screw about interviews.
worst part of it -highlighted two idiotic BBI mindsets - those who refuse to consider that maybe he was too much of a pain in the ass for coaches to deal with and thise that try to diminish his generational talent and make him out to be enroute to becoming a serial killer.
