Like Gettleman, Dorsey is undoing everything his predecessor

Like Gettleman, Dorsey is undoing everything his predecessors did. To give you some examples:

1. Deshone Kizer was taken in the second round in 2017 by a different regime. He was traded for an excellent S in Damarious Randall

2. Danny Shelton was a first round pick in 2015. He was traded along with a fifth rounder for a third rounder in May 2018.

3. Cody Kessler was a third round pick in 2016. He was traded for a seventh rounder. As was Shon Coleman, who was also a third round pick in 2016.

4. Corey Coleman was a first round pick in 2016. He was traded for a seventh rounder.

That's not to say Jabrill Peppers isn't a great football player and doesn't have potential, but I'm not convinced that Dorsey sees Peppers as an "second first rounder" in the trade. Perhaps we could've gotten Peppers in a separate deal.
Yeah but does Cleveland have

$33 Mill in dead money?
Pay attention...

...there is a bit of a formula. Cutting bait and stockpiling picks is part of it.

That’s not entirely fair.

Sashi Brown gave them a lot more draft capital and players than just those four.

dead money means nothing....it is what happens when you need to clear the unproductive players (except OBJ he was just a PIA) from the team.
Thank you section 125

it is only important when the dead money is more than the salary for the year which is why contracts are sometimes guaranteed for 2 years.

True.

Carl Nassib - gone. Ogbah will be gone. Rod Johnson - gone. Caleb Brantley - gone. Zane Gonzalez - gone.

Sashi Brown had 5 picks combined for Day 1 and Day 2 in 2016. Ogbah is the last remaining player...and he will be gone.

They're not going to get rid of Myles Garrett for obvious reasons, nor should they get rid of Ogunjobi. And I guess they want to develop Njoku even further.

I think you missed the point of the post
I think Peppers was universally regarded
adamg : 3/13/2019 9:53 pm : link
As first round material. Even Dorsey would have to admit that.

I don't know about that. Not saying yes and I'm not saying no. But you saw how he felt about the other top guys Sashi drafted (with the exception of Myles Garrett, which really doesn't count, Njoku and Ogunjobi
Name one good player Gettleman brought this team...
Foobarbaz : 3/13/2019 10:28 pm : link
Saquan dont count, that was obvious pick at number 2. All players he brought in from FA been garbage while release at least 15 players who were above average and still have shit salary cap....

Everyone liked his athletic skills but he was a player without a position coming out of college.
You have

to love people. Name one good player but you can’t name this guy. Picking Barkley was not the obvious choice and he took heat for it and still does to some degree. But let’s play this game. How about his very next draft pick, will Hernandez? Is he not a good player? Do carter and Hill not show real potential ? I mean we didn’t have to look hard there now did we
I got one
g56blue10 : 3/13/2019 10:37 pm : link
Better for you.. who are these 15 Above avg players that he released bc if we had that many above avg players I am sure we would have been a pretty good team

The point was that Dorsey might've gotten rid of Peppers anyway
