Since rumors started with AZ and Murray but Graziano/his source are doing little more than acknowledging a possible conversation that might take place.
RE: RE: Geez, as bad as we are with as little talent as we have Â
I'd certainly give up a 2nd, maybe even #17, but with all the people "in the know" saying he could be had for a 3rd, I'd give up a 3, 4, and 5 in a heartbeat. Keeping your top 3 picks and getting rid of Eli's contract (if you get Rosen, he starts Day 1) would be a huge get.
He wrote "or whether they would be sure to make an offer for Rosen if it did."
I'm not even sure what that means.
Im extrapolating but sounds like the source said, they'd explore it if available but not sure if they'd make an offer if the ask is too high. Agree poorly written sentence though.

I will be dreaming about this scenario coming true tonight:)
We have a 38 year old QB. we're now a perennial loser. Guess what, we'd be lucky to get any of these QB prospects and try to become a winning team again.
and while I don't spend a lot of time on the Cards fansite because it's full of morons, I have not heard grumblings about Rosen having a lousy attitude. As a player, he showed flashes or brilliance, he made a lot of rookie mistakes (but Eli still does that) but he played behind a line that made the Giants' look like All-Pros

holy crap.
Dave Brown, Kent Graham, Tommy Maddox, Danny Kanell
Things can get worse.
I'd rather give up a second or third rounder for Rosen Â
Or lacked interest for whatever reason, I honestly wouldn't put it past them to all of the sudden be more inclined to explore a Rosen deal after the Beckham backlash and the perception they got hosed. Its not like Mara hasn't been reactive to situations like this before.

They can but ownership is so scared shitless of failure at the QB position they (via DG) are trying to solve the problem with half measures.
I have loved Eli and I think he has throws left but EVERYTHING needs to go perfectly.
Moving on from Eli will be a risk but it is better than dying a slow death with no chance.
RE: I'd rather give up a second or third rounder for Rosen Â
It doesn’t mean they wouldn’t take a shot on the guy with a second round pick this year. Do you have concerns, ok fine. That prevents you from taking him at #2 overall, that makes sense. But for a second round pick or maybe even lower? Sure why not. Worth a try.
If it’s a complete disaster you can still come back next year and sell out for Tua or whoever.
RE: I want the draft to just fucking be here already Â
So your not excited about your favorite football team having 12 picks (2 first rounders) in the upcoming 7 round NFL draft? Just go away man..... Get another hobby or passion.
Rosen would allows us to continue with the defense rebuild as he is pretty cheap all things considered. Insane upside insane reward with little risk. They can retool defense and still have a crack at a franchisr guy. Worst case...he blows and you will be sittinf pretty for a 2020 qb
Rosen is really smart, and he throws better than anyone Â
to turn around and trade for Rosen. But I don’t care about that. I care that he’s likely to be a short-termer. Plus, there’s better next year waiting for us.
Depends on what those motivations are. Right now as far as we know it's simply trying to improve the roster.
Sources said they would explore a trade for Arizona's Josh Rosen, if the Cardinals decide to make him available, but that they aren't sure yet whether that will happen or whether they would be sure to make an offer for Rosen if it did.
except Mayfield in the last two classes. This season proved he can take a hit. AND he has a chip on his shoulder. Get him.
I keep seeing this repeated that he is really smart. He got a 29 on his wonderlic. While a good score most really smart QBs are scoring 35 plus on it. I think a lot of people attribute his political opinion and being the son of a neurosurgeon as him being smart.

they have interest in Rosen and are looking to see what the price tag is. It doesn't say the level of interest.
They wouldn't explore a trade (if Rosen became available) if they didn't have interest. IF the source is correct.
How many damn threads is this assbag going to make Â
JonC(who I really respect here)and others say that the Giants didn't like Rosen's interview and some here are questioning his smarts due to the Wonderlic test and over the years some prospects have talked about the Giants giving their "own" test. Please tell me how or why Rosen didn't pass these "Giant" tests and that big moron, Erik Flowers, impressed the team so much that he went #9 in the entire draft? What, he had the intelligence and great interviews that the Giants liked? How about Eli Apple? Makes you want to think about it, I think.

If the Giants cut Eli and traded their second for Rosen, it's not just about getting younger at quarterback. That move would open up $15M. That could be two or three starting level free agents.
The picture will be clearer as we get deeper into the free agent pool, but it just feels like a huge opportunity being passed by.
I'd rather avoid Rosen unless the Cards flat out gave him away. Â
I don't want the Giants to feel pressure to stick with Rosen beyond this year because they used a 2nd or 3rd round pick on him even if he doesn't improve significantly. And because I don't trust anyone in the front office, I think it's possible they could say, "We can't draft Tua/Herbert/Fromm/Costello because we already used this pick X on Josh Rosen."

Yes, this just about as much of a "no brainer" mover a team could make. If Rosen flops you go after your guy in 2020. It is worth a #2. Instead we suck with Eli for another year. It's insane.
... because of the concussions, no? Did 2018 fix his brain damage?
1st - you dont kniw that.
2nd - arent talking about the #2 pick in the draft and lots of money. We are talking about a 2nd and a pittance against the cap. A 2nd is still a risk but worth it for his skill set

He had the snot knocked out of him last year and did not have another one.
The attitude/maturity issue was a bigger flag if I quote JonC correctly. And again, he seemed to get through last season without teammates bitching about him.
There’s pretty much no way to evaluate him based on last year because Arizona had a worse OL than we ever had and that is saying something.
—We might get to keep #6 and #17 and fortify the lines
—Rosen costs practically nothing so it is basically a free roll and if he’s good, he’s the franchise QB
—If he’s not any good we will likely have an awful record and we’ll be in position to draft another QB high in 2020 or 2021 where there are legit franchise prospects who I think are better than Murray
Eli’s getting his roster bonus. Even if this were true Â
It falls under “WTF?”. It would make zero sense having both Eli and Rosen on the team. Rosen would have to play for us to get a read on his long term viability.
don't see the Giants paying Eli's #5M bonus, and then trading for Rosen. I suppose they could to ease Rosen's transition as the starting QB, but it seems unlikely.
If Graziano actually reports NYG are Interested in Rosen then I think you linked to the wrong article.
But we do need a QB, and spending a 2nd on Rosen, to me, is worth it. Much more so than spending a first on Haskins/Lock/whoever.

In the words of Dark Helmet: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
#Giants would explore a trade for Cardinals QB Josh Rosen if he is made available, per ESPN.

There are a few reports out there about this...mwhere there is smoke...plus we heard about more big stuff coming...

The wonderlic is very much a form of IQ test.
