Giants were the team that showed the most interest in Kyler Murray today; They met with him immediately after the Pro Day finished & he later had an extended meeting w/ Giants brass, per @MikeLeslieWFAA.
Here’s Kyler chatting w/ Mike Shula and Dir. of Col. Scouting Chris Petit. https://t.co/FBuqyG4LA8

The mere possibility that the giants want this kind of talent at qb makes me feel happy. I’d be so pumped if we got this dude. Murray is an insane talent.
If zona takes Murray trade for Rosen. If zona passes trade to #3 for Murray. I wouldn't trade to #1 for Murray it will take a ton and we need picks for D rebuild
“One of the things that we really focus on are instincts. Instincts are very important.
“You can write a laundry list of things you’re looking for ... one of the things I focus on and we talk about all the time is instincts. Does he have a feel for the game? Is he a step ahead of everybody else?
“Instincts and play smarts allow you to play bigger, stronger, faster.”
Could he have been referring too....

That’s not enough.
And what if he’s great. Watch this guy play. He’s a freak. He’s always the fastest and best athlete on the field. Every game.
Exactly what I said.
They take Murray we trade for Rosen. They pass on Murray we move up for him. This is smart because I like both and both are attainable

If the plan was to trade Beckham to get more picks and then use those as ammo to trade up to #1 and get Murray, it's going to crush this franchise if he's a bust.

Yeah, let me see what happens when he gets hit by NFL defenses.
Please god no.
Now that Beckham is gone and this season is more than likely going to be a bust anyway, I’d rather they use the picks to bolster the D and O-line.

want Murray, the Giants want Rosen... What's clear is NYG is putting an all court press on ARZ to see what shakes loose from the tree at the best price.

Exactly +1

6 and 17 should be enough
That’s not enough.
Back in 2016, the Eagles sent their 1st, 3rd, 4th and 1st in the following year's draft to Cleveland to move up six spots from 8 to 2 to land Carson Wentz. Giants would be have to move up five spots to land Murray. I'd assume for that to happen they'd have to trade away both 1's, a 4th, and maybe a 2nd in 2020.
bet we do it
No
No Way
Absolutely Not
Does it really matter?
All 32 teams had people there. Some to see Murray some to see their olineman (can't remember his name), most to see both of them.
If I want to look at large pics of Calamari I will go to a foodie board.
There is no reason to clutter NYG football threads with large photos of things that have ZERO relevance to the expected content.
Offer #95 and a 2020 3 two third rounders....if it doesn't work offer a 2020 2 and #95....we still have a ton of picks to rebuild team
You mean this Calamari?
Rosen's character issues scare me. Tons of scouting reports I read on him says he's not a great leader and is known to butt-heads with teammates. Not sure that's a trait I'd want in my starting QB.

Looks like the same thing to me!
I think Schurmur can coach any QB and looks for things like a quick release and anticipatory passing more than height requirements.
Would also point out, at 5’10” 205lbs Murray isn’t much smaller than Case Keenum who is 6’1” 215, and Schurmur got plenty of production out of Keenum in 2016.
You ok?
I doubt the NFL has a rule against a QB standing on a chair...
I'm just bustin' chops. IMO, Murray has skills that would mitigate that height deficiency.

I think its important to understand that Case Keenum played in a dome in Minnesota. That gives an advantage to any QB. You can see the difference with Keenum outside of a dome, he was terrible.
Exactly
You're such a jackass with this DSG crap. I guess when you were banned last time as Giants34 you didn't learn. Troll.

About Him. But he won't, so it's a moot point. DSG will just continue chugging along, oblivious to what is right in front of his face.

I'm going to try this once more. I was not banned. I really don't know how differently to put it. My handle was Giants34. It got messed up as it was unlinked from my e-mail account, so I had to change my handle. So stop with the nonsense that I was banned, which was patently false.
DSG earned his monicker. He is an absolute jackass who is tearing this team apart with no plan other than to bow down to Eli. It's sickening to watch.
Quote:
.....that be one hell of an entertaining team to watch
You ok?
Lol. I read that post five times to make sure I wasn't nuts.

The reality is it's neither of your faults to being the assholes that you are... This web site has limitations and one of which should be to show the only the "image" as a clickable tab option and not display if not clicked.
But please carry on with your obnoxious rights to post whatever dumb and unnecessary pics you want on this site.
Hope his girlfriend feels that way.

Well played
awesome for whoever takes him. No pro worm if it is us. If he was an inch or 2 taller people would be going nuts over him. I don’t think that inch is gonna matter.

Yeah, um, about that... you're gonna wanna sit down for this one...
Murray is too small and not just short. he has matured he can’t get much bigger and broader and being 5’7” which is closer to his actual height does not assure good odds for him to become a great nfl qb. So just forget it. it’s not going to happen because DG/Shurmer are too smart to let it happen.

Did he exhibit any of that last year in the pros? Forget the scouting reports. Besides surviving the season behind the worst line in the league, I don't think there was an issue with teammates.

You can't possibly be this dumb right? He was literally just measured at the combine and was 5'10 so no 5'7 isn't closer to his actual height.
If the nfl was Disney, he’d have to send the day at Magic Kingdom.

giants went all in for Eli in the draft giving away a lot. but there were many assurances from both inside and outside the organization that he was the guy to become the face of the franchise. You could almost say that his genetics and his family groomed him, determined him if you will, to be the qb.

Rick, that picture sure seems to show him 5 or 6 inches shorter than Tua...it ain't the shoes because I've seen the picture taken from the side and they are all in standard dress shoes. If I never knew he was measured at 5'10" and saw that picture knowing Haskins was 6'3" anad Tua 6'1", I'd guess Murray was 5'8"...

While I prefer a prototypical QB, it’s hard to ignore the exceptions to the rule like Russell Wilson and Baker Mayfield.

Mayfield is a shade over 6'. Wilson was a 3rd rounder. Murray is not 5' 10". Stephen A. Smith thought labeling him 5' 9" was being generous, and he may be correct. Here is a photo of Murray standing next to Haskins, who is listed at 6' 3" and Tua who is listed at 6' 1".
JFC don't you ever get tired of being wrong? You are aware that Murray was measured at the combine, right? But by all means, keep citing SAS like the fool that you are.

No way by that photo.
Anyway the Giants were "all over him" because of due diligence. Several people have pointed out that Murray was just terrible on Dan Patrick's show in interview.
The Giants' brass are digging into his mental makeup, and maybe checking out the truth about his height too.
I don't think they bite on him at 6, let alone trade up for him.
But what do I know?
His hands look smaller in pictures when he grips a football.
I am just not sold on Murray. Like Haskins and Lock better than Murray.
In s perfect situation we trade our number 37 pick for Rosen.

Height doesn't matter when your handing the ball off 40+ times a game. I'll be pissed if our offense is Raven-like.
Swing for the fucking fences, man. If he doesn't pan out or gets hurt... so be it.
Take a shot. The kid throws a great ball. He's incredibly athletic. His size still really concerns me - as does his hand size (Goff was absolutely terrible in Chicago in December) - but I'd be happy if this is the direction we moved in.

Some guy on the Giants' staff said "No guts, no glory".

So he managed to fake his height at the combine? Let's be real.
Last year, Shurmur and Darnold were practically dating.
Are we now doubting the ability of combine officials to hold a tape measure correctly?
Quote:
guy who was at the combine the other day confirms this. Giants seemed very, very intrigued by Murray. He doesn't think it's smoke at all. Doesn't mean they move up etc. But they are doing all of their homework on him.

Sure but that doesn't mean much here. Barkley is a once in a life-time caliber talent. For all we know the Giants really wrestled with that decision. There is no Saquon Barkley in this draft. Shurmur could have loved Darnold and the Giants still could have liked someone else more. Both things can be true.
