Havent seen them play enough to have an opinion but neither Remmers nor Schaeder would count against the comp pick formula. Which by all accounts looks like a 3rd rounder. Something to consider.
That said, looking at that list, I hope our starting RT comes from one of our 1st 4 draft picks.
You and I both know that Scarnecchia is cut from a different cloth. I didn't realize he was 71 already.
What he has done up in NE with their OL's is tremendous. He does more with less than anyone in the league. There is a reason that why the Pats let their OL leave when they are about to get paid. They have the "OL whisperer" ready to work his magic.

or one of the others that were cut on something like a 2 yr/$8M deal. Can backup both OT spots, significant upgrade over Wheeler and gives added flexibility in the draft in case they don't get a OT in the first 2 rounds that can start immediately.

I heard a radio interview with him a couple of years ago. He said it's the Pats or retirement for him. He also said something along the lines of he doesn't really want to be working but Bill talks him into it.

they just draft one, they have extra picks now.
Plenty of teams do it.
In recent years teams like the Colts, Saints, etc.
Spend some money on this defense!
We should have been all over that Marcus Gilbert trade (6th rd pick) Â
he's had trouble staying healthy the last couple years, but he is a beast. Only costs 4m against the cap the next 2 years. Hopefully there's another guy like that available somewhere.
But I much rather have a proven RT.....get me an adult NFL RT. I am tired of growing pains, development etc....
9 years of shit on OL....i think we have finally at least enouhh talent for a clean pocket.
Over pay for a proven player at RT.
I really rather not go with a rookie.
.
Other teams do it, this list is a bunch of JAGS,
players that have seen their better days.
People need to stop with the paranoia about a rookie RT.
If they draft a rookie, he will be playing next to a veteran RG, as I mentioned, other teams do it.
This is now Tier 3 of the free agency period.
Maybe sign a WR on offense, that can't hurt.
Better to look at what they have here on defense, and try
to shore that up.
Sure, if he brings Belichick. Most of his coaches thrive under his aegis and then they go elsewhere, and?

Agreed
Agreed - But we also need depth at a reasonable co$t.

We need somebody with his skills.

Absolutely
They're also cousins

The Giants got lucky with Hernandez. He was a guard and it still took at least 1/2 season for him to be a respectable G.
They need a veteran RT who can start until he is beaten out. Remmers or Shrader look to be the best out there.
If they get to the trade deadline, and someone has lost a starting tackle, make a deal.
Similar with Pulley as a trade option (like the did with Jones).
Jonah Williams even, according to draft simulators. Or Risner...
