Have we closed the book on Murray?

clydeman1 : 3/14/2019 9:21 am
With recent developments in view, would a trade up for Murray be brewing, or has the org written him off as not a fit for our offense? I know Haskins is anxious to wear the blue, but is Murray totally out of the picture???? Inquiring minds wishing to know.....
Shurmur was just at Murray's pro day

yesterday.

They literally just attended his pro day, and met with him extensively - the question posed in your thread start should have already been answered for you based on that.
I don’t know how anyone could have missed

The multiple threads on this yesterday, including the Giants sending several top people to his pro day.

This is sort of like asking whether or not the OBJ trade rumors have died down.
I would never use our once in a lifetime (for us) treasure

trove of draft picks to move up to draft a QB that has more question marks than not. Nothing’s guaranteed, pro or con, but to expend the resources it would appear that is needed to get him, would be foolish, imo
And btw?

These fucking side ads that cut off sentences are annoying as hell

Are you referring to I-phones, or also standard laptops and desktops?

I hope so

Let someone else experiment with Tiny Tim. Here is Murray standing next to Haskins, who is listed at 6' 3" and Tua who is listed at 6' 1":
I wouldn’t
BillT : 3/14/2019 9:42 am : link
I think Murray would be a great get. I think he’s going to be a tremendous player and a real game changer. The 6 and the 17 would be a fair price for him and I’d do that deal in a hot second.
It's either a smokescreen,
NYFootballGiants : 3/14/2019 9:47 am : link
or we're just evaluating possible options. When you're picking this high, you have a general idea of who might be there. Murray just happens to be on that list.
Why is he

sitting down?

Standing next to Haskins and Tua while holding the Heisman Trophy!
People are not realizing

Cody Ford was a big part of the meetings yesterday. Potentially number 17 overall
Unless the trade
Beer Man : 3/14/2019 9:57 am : link
is with the Cardinals, trading up for Murray would be foolish

You do realize that the other two guys are set a bit closer to the camera than Murray is, right?

Camera angles can do a lot of things.

The Giants were obviously there to see and meet with others, and Ford is likely one of those guys. But they clearly spent additional time - it was at least reported more than any other team - meeting with Murray following the pro day.

By no means am I suggesting that any of this means they are trading up for Murray or even all in on him. Just relaying what was reported.
I'm not saying
AcesUp : 3/14/2019 10:39 am : link
they definitely draft Murray, or any QB, but you're in serious denial if you don't think the Giants were there to check out the QB. The Giants seem married to the idea of giving Eli a proper send off by having him pass the baton on to the next guy. It's really the only logical reason he's still on the roster as DG has gutted everything around him. With 1 year left on his deal, now would be the ideal time to do that.

MY GOD! He's barely taller than the trophy!
I certainly hope

Hey Bruce. Hope you are well. Murray has more questions than any 1st pick should ever have. Size. Durability. Ability to play in an actual NFL offense. Not one dreamed up but our Madden crazed friends here

He may evolve into a great QB. But I’d compare him to Mariotta if anyone. Both very athletic and whose offenses were nothing like what they will need to run.

forcing a QB is going to set this team back even more
Hey buddy. Back atcha..
Big Blue '56 : 3/14/2019 2:20 pm : link
I’m at the point of either trade for Rosen or pick Haskins if Shurmur likes what he brings to the table. Otherwise, just move on and try again next year
