is saying now, is it? Their belief is he could've played.
News flash the team is going to say whatever the hell they want to say now so suckers like yourself with feel better about it.
God forbid anyone with any kind of a flamboyant personality could be apart of this team.
You have fun with that, junior. Time to grow up.
I haven't found 1 source that can remotely confirm that OBJ sat himself or could have played in those last few games.
If it's the shit you hear on the radio spewed from Boomer and what not, WFAN has a partnership with the Giants.
I used to help setup the damn stage for Mike Francessa when he setup his Sunday show at the stadium.
You really think WFAN isn't going to have a pretty clear bias, so they don't mess up their relationship with the organization?
Strange logic considering the QB outplayed him in the only important game they ever played together.
But again, your OBJ13 Brownies jersey is probably already ordered and on its way.
Enjoy!

I don't listen to the radio, and read very little print media.

Great we have established you have absolutely no sources, but your own thoughts. That certainly holds some water.

Why would any great player want to waste away their prime with an over the hill QB who no longer has it? Fuck that.

Eli hasn't outplayed much of anyone over the past 7 seasons, especially the last few. Big part of the reason we are where we are.
Enjoy yet another sub .500 record this season, and a CAREER sub .500 record for Eli Manning. LMAO.
I'll tell you this though, your performance on this thread is weak and emotional. Sorry you lost a favorite player.
Are you trying to be proven right about something?
Is it that you ride Beckham's jock?
Sam Darnold's?
What is the reason?
Put your big boy pants on. We're not kids anymore who cry when their favorite player gets traded or injured.
Loved watching him play, will keep pulling for him to succeed in Cleveland because I have nothing against him. But it wasn't working here.
This needs to be about NYG. Not Odell Beckham.

He can add his new Browns OBJ jersey to his Jets Darnold jersey.

Doesn't excuse how LT was often let off the hook, but he had Parcells and others to help manage things.
And, LT never sat out a football game to try and make a selfish point.
LT failed drug tests in 1987. He still played for the Giants for many years after that.
What exactly has OBJ done that is remotely close to that?
What exactly has Beckham done that's remotely close to what LT did on the field?
Beckham's legacy here is a boat trip and generally just being a bitch. If you couldn't see that coming that's on you.
Chris my only comment is on this very specific portion of your post. Who cares about Eli's record? Meaningless statistic which by the way Eli also owns.
More interested in TEAM wins for the fans. I would love to trade places with Eli.

After a horrific past 7 years, I have ZERO sympathy for the Giants or Eli Manning anymore. Still a Giants fan, watch all of the games, but I no longer sympathize with a team tha makes the same mistakes year after year. If a player can get out of this mess and go to a better team in their prime, good for them. I;m not going to be a homer and suck the teet of every move this franchise makes and pretend it's a great move like you and a certain few others. The writing has been on the wall for almost a FULL decade now. Not my fault you're too slow to realize it. But, hey, its all over very soon, so. Enjoy one more year of a shit-show.
Cancer.
Just trying to find out how another "Giants fan" would find any potential downfall of the team or a current player on it, laughable.

Are you gonna cry? Why am I no longer a fan? Because I call them out on an awful 7 years? You guys are on another planet. Everyone outside of this BBI bubble laughs at idiots such as yourself.

How? Because it;s been 7 years of the same mistakes. That's how.

Would suggest people read this over and over. The trade stunned me. I greatly enjoyed the player. But we're moving forward. Let's go
Curious. When he says "real" fans, is he excluding any bandwagon fans who just placed their order on NFL Shop for a new Browns jersey? Or it he excluding those fans who are happy to see him gone?
he still does

The latter I assume. Why would he direct a statement like this to people who are glad to see him go?
We figured out a way to keep him on the team and some of the terrible shit he did was released to the public at the time.
OBJ has never done anything remotely close to that crap, and he's vilified.
Since when was doing drugs and banging hookers a bad thing, wasn't Odel in that hotel with cocaine as well?
As Giants fans we understand the need for Jose.

I don't like every move the Giants make. I would have never hired Shurmur.
I just don't act like a petulant child when the team I root for doesn't do what I want them to.
Carry on with the incessant bitch fest you've been having this week.

Beckham saved people's jobs? Looking at the front office, coaching staff, and player roster that doesn't appear to be the case.

The guy got/saved more people's jobs than the President. But he celebrated in the end zone and we can't have that so off you go.

What would Eli's career passer rating be if they never drafted Beckham? Worse than 47th all time?

Eli would've been gone a while ago without Odell. Reese was allowed to stick around as long as he did because of Odell. McAdoo only got the job because of what Odell did for the offense. Considering that ownership had begun to force changes to his coaching staff, Coughlin probably would've been gone a year earlier without the improvement in the offense that was clearly all about Odell.
Beckham ain't shit compared to Eli Manning. Who the fuck is Odell Beckham? The next important thing he does will be the first.

So true.
The bar is too high for you? That's on you.
There's no debate here. You're emotional.

If you're so hardheaded when it comes to Odell that you can't even admit that he clearly extended Eli's Giants career, I don't know what else to say.

Truth. He didn't show up at all in the only big game he played.
Did Eli show up in his first playoff game? Perhaps it's just dumb to base one's opinion of a player on one game.
After the fifth year of his career Beckham got run out of town because they couldn't stand him anymore.
Don't compare Beckham to Eli, LT, or any other great Giant. He isn't remotely in their class.

You are smarter than the argument you are trying to make here. It implies that Eli and LT individually were the sole reason for our SB victories. They had a fully-built teams with great help, the likes of which Odell never had.

By the fifth year of his career Eli had already won a Super Bowl MVP, and made a miracle play to beat the undefeated Pats to get this franchise its third ring.

Eli and LT were not the sole reason for SB victories, but they were a damn big reason.
Beckham was on one team that had a chance to do something, and he had a huge hand on the field and off it in fucking that game up.
If your case for a player's excellence is based on a rationalization, it isn't a great case. The guy had three great statistical seasons as a Giant, two of which were terrible team seasons...and we're going to compare him to Eli and LT? Get the fuck out of here.
I’m not a Cancer....... I’m a Scorpio ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ¤ª sorry for the confusion
It absolutely was a mistake. How'd it work out? How have these last five years been for the Giants? It's not all on him, but part of it sure is. The guy is a losing player that was part of a toxic locker room over that period of time. Yeah, it was a mistake.
re: Packer game - Eli had it right, young player got psyched out by a game "made it bigger than it was" - shit like that happens.
great player, generational talent. one of best talents to ever play for Giants. If the issues with him and coaching staff compelled them to trade him, I'm okay with it but I'm not delusional or dishosent about how good a player he was.
