Some news: According to a league source, the #Giants have talked to reps for Patriots free agent WR Chris Hogan recently. Hogan, 31, a two-time Super Bowl champ, of course out of N.J.'s Ramapo High School & Monmouth U.
He's a FA
He's a free agent. Pats didn't resign him. He doesn't stink. At least he didn't for the Pats.Cheap money short term I'd take him.
Actually, he was with Buffalo for several years before he went to NE.
I think he's a free agent.
Maybe they are looking at bringing in a Golden Tate?
They jut re-signed Dorsett as well.
Draft a WR in the middle rounds. We can get a 35 reception/500 yard/3TD guy with one of our 4ths and he'll cost peanuts

This is what the 2nd and 3rd wave of free agency looks like guys. Lower your expectations. I think he's a good target at WR. I'd much rather go for a reliable high floor guy like Hogan than an underachiever like a Perriman if we're going this route.

You can do both. And there are no guarantees that even a 1st round WR gives you that production his rookie year.

Who else do they have at WR besides Edelman?

Golden Tate has not done dick in two years and is on the wrong side of 30. He freakin averaged over $200,000 a reception last year
He has rings, he has played with a group of winners. If he costs a couple Mill for 2 years then this would be a decent pick up.
Better question would be, is he an upgrade over Cody Latimer or Benny Fowler? If the answer is yes, than I wouldn't mind if the Giants sign him.
Something like 2 years, and about 5 mill is my guess.
He is what he is, okay, nothing special.
A good locker room guy as well.
Unless you think Corey Coleman suddenly grows up.
Hogan is faster than people think, has better hands than people think, and runs better routes than people think. The one thing he's not is shifty. I also don't know much about his contribution in run blocking but I'd be surprised if he wasn't giving full effort.
He's an underrated player and would be a nice get.
Having said that, the contract should be inconsequential, not the kind of deal they gave Stewart to play the same role but to get paid like he could contribute. Based on skill alone you can get this guy at 22 years old in the 5th round.
It's a process. It takes character and often some compromises, and here we are.
So...2 years $8 million?
Agreed. And I expect that we'll draft a few WRs this year whether we bring in guys like this or not.
