Giant fans. We are moving on from one of the worst GMs in giant history. He missed for so long that it cost us a team. We reset. It’s sucks but we reset. We cannot keep Eli. Either trade for Rosen for a 2 or 3 and if he stinks it costs us scraps. If it is Haskins, throw him to the wolves and get some monsters on defense and offense
One that can win SuperBowls. One that win games in the 4th qtr and raise the level of play around him. A great pocket passer who can get out of trouble and cause some damage with his feet.
I do want one who manages games.
Don’t get why they have to be so certain quarterback is the absolute right guy, because there are no absolutes.
For that matter drafting Flowers kind of set them back, why is getting the wrong qb any more of a risk

A QB like that comes around very infrequently. Luck, rightfully so, was regarded as one of the better prospects in a decade.
The reality is 1) the vetting process doesn't always avail them; see Rodgers and Mahomes 2) championships can be won without one; see Wilson and Foles 3) many good not great QBs are having early success in this era of the NFL; see Goff, Watson.
The 2020 draft class is where we should be focused on getting our future quarterback...

Someone could write a nice thesis on how the Tunsil bong video permanently altered the NY Giants timeline for the worse.
Maybe if we draft Conklin the OL issues aren't so bad, Eli plays better, Giants have more success and OBJ isn't so unhappy, etc. etc. etc.

But the key is to get the correct QB. I want an Andrew Luckish type.

Trevor Lawrence 2021, but we absolutely need tank the season for him.
These are their organizational values. They transcend football and the record in any given season.
I think that part of the reason for the fury from owner about the end of Eli's streak is that it didn't embody the values of the organization. It was a ruthless, unsentimental football decision. It isn't how you treat family. John Mara is still rueful about the way Simms was treated at the end. That isn't how you treat family, either. They're going to treat Eli like family, and will sacrifice wins to that end.
This is also why they are thin-skinned about guys like Tiki and OBJ criticizing the organization or the current players. It's a betrayal by family. They can't shrug that stuff off.
The Giants are nearing 100 years old and the Maras have owned the team since the beginning. 2019 is just one season, those values are more important to ownership. And yes, more important than winning. You may not like it, but this is who they are. They are not going to cut Eli. He can retire, they may even ask him to retire, they probably would be fine if he could find a trade for himself, but they're not going unceremoniously cut him. .
I'm not as sentimental as they are, actually. I'm tired of watching the Giants lose. But I understand where they're coming from. Again, I'm surprised how many Giants fans don't get it at all.
Mara knew Geno was starting, and didn't do anything until the back lash became too great to handle.
The only values Mara has shown over the past 5 years is how to flip flop.
I've always been a fan of his, but he needs to grow a spine
Eli is like a son to Mara....and will be treated accordingly. It's why the would never ask him to take a pay cut.
signing Rosen is low risk ($ wise). if it doesn't work then that means we're in position to draft a replacement. I would do it in a heart beat.

But I think my larger point is valid.
You know what has been dog crap for the last 5-6 years? Coaching, and, for the last 2, QB play.
But go ahead and re-write history.
