#NYG defensive coordinator James Bettcher is here at #Clemson pro day, along with #Bengals HC Zac Taylor.
Obviously lots of guys to look at. The whole Clemson D-Line, Trayvon Mullen, Tre Lamar, Mark Fields Jr., Kendall Joseph...
Huggins was a rotating DT for Clemson, but moved to a full time role when Dexter Lawrence was suspended.
He proved in big college games he has an NFL future for a guy that has mostly been off the radar because of the Clemson talent in front of him.
I concur.
More like 17 but I love him. Solid 2 way player and has played in a 2 point stance.
For example:
Sweat at #6
Christian Wilkins at #17
All the sudden the OL is fixed & the front 7/D is well on its way, with an influx of talent up front and in the secondary (Peppers & Beal).

OL in Rd2 & 3...
I like it
Who were the WR's on the 86 and 90 Giants? Or any of the Patriots winners?
Nasty OLine. Nasty RB. Nasty front 7. Franchise QB.
That's a sustainable winner. If we nail this draft, we're a lot closer to competing than people think.

I am at the point where I hope he goes 2 pass rushers.

to see the Giants "double dip" the front 7 in the 1st round. It's an unusually strong DLine draft we can take advantage of.

That doesn't have to mean ER though. It could and I would be okay with that but I would be equally as happy with a guy who can do some damage inside whether that is a pass rusher or a guy that eats up double teams to help out others on that line.

Very true. Character will matter though and I believe Christian Wilkins is one of the highest character guys in this draft. He would be a great 5 Tech and start from day 1. If he is there at 17 I can see him as a no brainer. Pick # 6 if not Haskins should be Sweat.

Honestly I would like to see that also. If you have two solid pass rushers whether two edge rushers or one of them can collapse the pocket from inside, everyone else on your defense is suddenly playing better. I think it is the quickest way to impact the defense.
I don't think Lawrence will be a consideration. Gettleman already said the trade of Snacks Harrison was made specifically to allow Tomlinson to move inside. Not sure why he'd reverse that decision this quickly. Further, you have to think Lawrence has a character flag on him after being suspended for a banned substance, forcing him to miss the national championship game. To what degree this will diminish him in Gettleman's eyes, I don't know, but what I do know is Gettleman does put an emphasis on character.
Wilkins would be the far more likelier target, if he's still around at #17.
Deebo Samuel is another player I have interest in. 5'11" with 10" hands, and a ridiculous 39" vert at the combine...ran a 4.48 as well.
Trayvon Mullen reportedly getting 1st round buzz.

You nailed this one. Huggins is a major sleeper. Kid can flat out pressure the QB

Move Tomlinson out to 5T. He is 350 and crazy athletic. Good luck running against that front. He's got a little pass rush as well, though it's not his forte.

I didn't realize that about Tomlinson, but didn't think he looked like a natural 3-4 nose last year. As far as character, I don't think it's a big issue. It's a banned substance but it's something that could be in different supplements not a narcotic. There is also no history of that with him, so I'd be surprised if that's an issue. Something teams will certainly discuss though.

Deebo had a great Senior Bowl week too if I remember correctly too
And if your concern is the run, getting bigger and slower upfront isn't the answer. Focus on LB and the backend. Get players that have instincts, smarts and that know how to tackle. Peppers and Bethea is a start.

Agree - DG had a great draft in '18.. No question that we also need to hit on this one deep into day 3.

Fine with me. I don't think the people who say you can't win this way anymore in the modern NFL are correct. I think you can win no matter how you play as long as you have a strong D-Line and an O-Line. I think those are two requirements that will never fail in this particular sport, regardless of the era.
