Loooooonng time lurker here, this is my first post. Had lots of registration problems in the past.
I've been just scouting around and trying to think of how the Giants could land a typical outside WR to keep the opposing defenses honest this year. I for one think we can still win if we continue to shore up the line and find a starting worthy split end.
Cameron Meredith showed lots of promise before his injury in Chicago, and New Orleans seemed to buy in to that promise with their 2 year contract, but it seems he still had some recovery to do and/or they've soured on him.
He's got one year left and a big cap number (6.5 mil). Perhaps the Giants could snag him for a 5th, restructure a new prove it deal to spread the cap out? He's 26 years old and could pay dividends with a short term investment.
I guess offering a 5th up speaks to my desperation. Not sure the Saints have lots of incentive to cut him, though. Not much more they will likely do in FA so don't necessarily need to save the money.
Agreed.
Meredith plays for the Saints.
