Agree completely. But the Patriots have the "luxury" of having created a quality NFL roster. You do that through the draft. But they didn't blow 7-8 drafts in a row like the Giants have done.
Look at last year. Most people here thought we were due a 3rd round comp pick (spotrac or some other site even projected that). We got a LATE 5th instead.
So we can not sign anyone in hopes we might get a 3rd round pick. But unfortunately, we don't have the same roster as the Pats.
Just to be fair, the highest comp pick OTC projected us to get was a 4th rounder. However, we should have traded Collins if we could have received a third rounder from a Tampa Bay as rumored during the trade deadline.
