Youve been spot on, yet again, though I wish you were as effective as Slade.

Kudos, my friend

Didnt he predict one more big move?
ArlingtonMike : 3/14/2019 6:58 pm : link
Guessing that wasnt Tate.

Hate to even guess but.....Rosen? For a second rounder I would say maybe. For a third...no brainer, if medical and fit check out.

his 1 remaining prediction is "1 other nice piece on D" being pursued
Eric on Li : 3/14/2019 7:01 pm : link
he said they just missed on Williams (said Remmers now backup plan).
in big on M Golden (got him).
Didn't predict Tate and it's unclear if maybe that takes them out of the other nice piece on D. Or bc that other piece went elsewhere.

very good asshatting nonetheless.
Thanks jt

I imagine they're after another corner or safety as the last piece.
I think theyre set at safety

I'd say corner is probably most likely. Possible an interior DL. 2 interesting recent high picks out there I'd be interested in are Danny Shelton and PJ Williams. Neither has been a total bust and I'd imagine both are looking for teams with favorable depth charts for a 1 year prove it deal.

They can try to win all they want. They will not be successful with this roster. But you can't stop stupid, and the Giants are football's definition of stupid at this point. So have at it, DSG!

So just what do you want them to do? Roll over and play dead? Of course they will try to win. Players want to win, limited experience or not. Called competition and these guys are the ultimate competitors. If I'm a season ticket holder I want them to try and win. You want o get rid of the losing mentality and that accepting defeat is ok.
Get that RT and the line will be pretty decent. Barkley had 1300+ yards behind garbage last year. He saw 8 in the box most of the year and still did that. They scored plenty of points w/o OBJ except against Tennessee when everybody sucked in crappy weather. Tate is not OBJ, but he isn't a scrub #4 WR. Coleman started to play well. PS finally figured out how to use Engram and it was pretty impressive.

Any improvement on defense will hugely help. But there still isn't enough on the roster to improve that side of the ball yet. THey can get big time help in the draft. Carter should be a lot better this season.

Is this a playoff team as constituted right now? No.

With a good draft could this be a playoff team? Doubtful unless they hit bigtime on the draft and pluck a few hidden gems in cap casualties.

But you cannot just give up yet.

I also believe that this year, for better or worse, Bettcher is or will be getting HIS type of players, not inherited ones

And for those that think the Giants don't want or don't think they can win now, then you've obviously never played sports. This ain't the NBA and NHL. The NFL is a year to year prospect. Before last season at 7-8-1, the Browns had lost 31 of 32 games. Now, they're poised for a run.

If the Giants...or ANY team I put my fandom behind...decides that they are not trying to "win now" then screw them. Who the hell wants to root for a team to lose.

Again, I remember a strong contingent on this board who wanted the Giants to lose their season finale against the Redskins in 2006 so TC would get fired, despite the fact that winning would put them in the playoffs. They lost in the first round to Philly by 3 points, being unable to stop Philly on the final drive. The very next season, TC brought home his first Lombardi. Four years later, another. If this BBI contingent had gotten their wish, would any of that happened?

Seriously, who the hell roots for their team to LOSE?

You would think no one, but....there are those that want to lose so DG and PS are fired because they don't like them and or the group that thinks one of the QBs next year will be the guy. A race to the bottom. You can't plan for draft position in the NFL.

If you are 5-8 and eliminated from the playoffs is it better going 8-8 or 5-11?

Who's to say? Personally, I'd rather they win the three games while giving time to youngsters in order to evaluate the talent. What seems to be advocated by many right on this thread is to tank...from the beginning...this season because the GMs on the site think we can't "win now".
