Glazer on Undisputed reference Beckham.

Tim in Eternal Blue : 3/14/2019 8:53 pm
Quote:
For them, it was addition by subtraction," Glazers said. "They share the blame for it and put value on what was the best possible scenario -- instead of all the scenarios."
This line by Glazer goes to show you just how irreparable the relationship between the Giants and Beckham was when they agreed to trade him.

I'll delete if this article has already been posted.

Reading this has made me change my tune. A lot of info has already been reported here.

Is he a fan or an owner? I feel like he’s just here to make money and bang young chicks
And to be honest

I'm not sure if he includes that last bit about Odell if they work out at different gyms. He wanted to play the middle on it and i completely get that. But he knew the original bit was damnning and tried helping Odell safe some face.

Ownership stayed with Reese too long
SGMen : 3/14/2019 9:07 pm : link
First, it is easy to look back and realize the problem was Reese & his drafts. They outright sucked with exception of OBJ, by and large. Especially rounds 3 - 7, nothing worth anything to talk about!

Second, Coughlin should have been given one more year AND Reese shown the door if that year didn't work out either.

Third, bad choice with next HC - LOL. Team turned on that putz.

Fourth, see 1 to 3.

The giants don’t like to trade or lose their super stars

They will put up with a lot. With that said I don’t mind placing “blame” at both parties. Maybe we don’t even need to apply blame at this point. But it took two tango. Giants played like dog shit for the majority and Beckham got fed up with it. Who’s right who’s wrong who cares. Giants had two choices in the end put up and risk the outcome or trade him now.

I’m just grateful he’s out of the nfc. If Beckham went nfc east I’d be sick.

I totally forgot Landry was there

I would have been fine trading him to Philly. Trojan Horse.

This prick won't be playing for Cleveland in three years.
OBJ and Landry
BlueinRoch : 3/14/2019 9:32 pm : link
I gotta feeling this is not going to end well. I do believe OBJ is an amazing talent and has the potential to be a future HOF'er. That being said, this move may not be the best for him. Hanging with his old college buddy, coached by his old college coach. For his sake, I hope the Browns are able to keep his off field distractions to a minimum.
Ok fair enough
WeekendLife56 : 3/14/2019 9:32 pm : link
But saying we didnt sign him to trade him suggests we are all to stupid to figure out you dont sign a guy to a 95 million contract then trade him.....lol

I just cant stand this guy...I'll get over it eventually

It would be interesting if someone wants to revisit Glazer's Prediction thread in the archives. JonC. and I were clear that Glazer doesn't deal in click-bait false rumor mongering. The vast majority of BBI were dismissive of Glazer. Live and Learn.

Thank you!! I was thinking the same thing! What is the guy a priest? He should not concern himself with making money?? ...and bangin chicks? How dare he? He should do it properly like Kraft and go to weird brothels!!
The best part of that was the Baker Mayfield description:
BlueLou'sBack : 3/14/2019 9:59 pm : link
"Baker Mayfield is a gangster."

So if OBJ tries to show him up, what then? Mayfield pops him, I guess.
That was a horribly written
section125 : 3/14/2019 10:00 pm : link
article. Jumps all over the place. Makes innuendos instead of clearly stating the facts. If you write an article to show how Jay Glazer knew what was happening, they should have written it with all Jay's clues laid out in an organized manner. I have no doubt Jay knows his shit. He is so plugged in it is amazing. When was the last time he was wrong?
But it really makes it seem the Giants tried hard to deal with Beckham and yet he continued to shoot himself in the foot. While Glazer will not say the Lil Wayne interview was the straw that broke the camel's back, he seems to say he was out the door before then.
It also kind of proves that Gettleman got what he could for Beckham.

Yep. Although to be fair, as much as I think he SUCKED as a GM I think Reese had a decent eye for skill positions. Everything else? No.

It's also horribly written because it tries to make it seem like the Giants' offense took off when Beckham didn't play the last 4 weeks.

In reality...
- They averaged 25 points per game the final month without Beckham
- They averaged 29 points per game the final 4 weeks Beckham played

The two teams that actually needed the games the final month without Beckham held Saquon Barkley to 74 yards rushing on 35 carries. Enough of the nonsense please.

We shall see. He’s going to a pretty talented team. It won’t be boring. Mayfield looks like the goods, good running game and the D is pretty well stocked. Winning is the ultimate perfume. Big personalities don’t tend to do well within losing environments. If they win Beckham will be fine. He would have been fine here it the giants won in my view.

Then why did we give OBj the big contract?
Doomster : 3/15/2019 6:09 am : link
AS mentioned before, we could have used the fifth year option, and then franchised him this year for a trade.....

If he acted up with the fifth year option, that would have confirmed a reason for not giving him a big contract.....DG blew this and cost us 16M in dead money this year.....he has created almost 80M, that's 80M, in dead money the last two seasons....

More trade value. If obj acted up like Levon Bell he wouldn't be worth crap. Sure lots of dead money this uear but he netted a first and a great Safety

Glazer explains why he got the big contract if you read the article. Shurmur went to bat for Beckham, stuck his neck out for him and wanted to try and make it work.
exactly
bc4life : 3/15/2019 7:54 am : link
Shurmur thought he could handle the personality. Management was not unreasonable in giving him the chance.
Front Office and Gettleman
bc4life : 3/15/2019 7:56 am : link
and their predecessors not blameless in this. You're a boss, gotta handle your business.
In the end, not a surprising development
Jimmy Googs : 3/15/2019 8:57 am : link
Superstar yet head-case NFL WR becomes problematic on a continuing losing team. Throw in a few injuries, coaching changes and immaturity on both sides...and its time to bail.

Likelihood is Cleveland (and others) will struggle managing this talent too over time.

But if they somehow are successful, it will be salt in the wound...
Cleveland is accumulating a lot of talent...
DonQuixote : 3/15/2019 10:22 am : link
...but it looks like a powder keg off the field and personality wise. We'll see how it goes.
