Rashan Gary to stand on Combine NUmbers

jvm52106 : 3/15/2019 8:28 am
and will not workout at his pro day. He will only weigh-in.
As he should

...I think he's our guy at 6 as long as Bosa/Allen/Williams are gone. Gary or White.
Sweat may have passed him
Torrag : 3/15/2019 8:46 am : link
More dynamic and productive. More sacks and TFL playing in a tougher conference. They’re both going early.

Sweat is talented but he’s slender. Not sure he can hold the POA. Seemed to me once a lineman gets ahold of him it’s over. He’s pure speed. To me he’s more of a gamble then gary but the upside of course is higher with sweat. gun to my head, give me gary.
Just from the little I heard

it sounds like Gary is the better of the two just based on production. Production is king imo.
‘He’s pure speed’...

He’s not just a speed guy. He’s explosive at contact. Your analysis of his game is pretty far off base from what I’ve watched.
Dodge WTH are you talking about?
Torrag : 3/15/2019 8:55 am : link
Sweat is the more productive statistical player. Do your homework.

Gary to me is more "sound" but not the IMPACT guy SWEAT could be.
I want a guy up front
ryanmkeane : 3/15/2019 9:39 am : link
that can dominate in the trenches. Gary is that guy.
I think they'd be better at different positions in this defense
Lionhart28 : 3/15/2019 10:29 am : link
I see Gary as a 5T who could play some OLB and Sweat as a more explosive, strictly OLB.

Both great athletes but Gary scares the shit out of me.
If we are going D, I'd rather the LB White from LSU

Gary,9.5 sacks in 3 seasons at Michigan. He's not the edge rusher you're drafting at 6 because,he's not an edge rusher! They're will be plenty of talented Edge rushers/OTs available at 6 if we don't go QB. It'll be an early night of remote throwing for me if Gary is our first, first round pick!

9.5 sacks in 3 seasons shows he doesn't produce,so in an inverse way, you're right!

He is definitely not pure speed, BUT he is better with his hand down than standing up. In a 3 point stance he is a rocket. I worry about him fitting as well in a 3-4.

He isn't a Edge rusher. He is a 3-4 DE which we also need. I would prefer Ed Oliver though and if by miracle Quinenn Williams falls my goodness you jump to the podium.

Most draft experts have him projected as an edge rusher (except PFW who believes his position is DT) in the NFL but prefaces it by saying he's one of the riskier picks in the first round based on his tape, injuries & lack of production. As you mentioned at 6,people like Oliver should be available & have much more upside, I'd also love to see Williams fall but I don't see that happening! I think as the draft gets closer,ERs like Sweat & Burns( like Ferguson too, still wonder if he'll be a 1st rounder) will rise on most boards & hopefully the Giants can secure 1 of them!
