Tate just called into Francesca’s show for a quick interview as he was leaving the Giants’ facility. Some highlights below,
He thinks very highly of the Giants organization as one of the best in the league
Had a few teams interested in his services but didn’t want to jump to a decision, told his agent he wanted to take his time analyzing the teams. He ultimately felt the Giants were the best fit
Really looking forward to working with Eli; he thinks Eli is still a very good QB. Eli can help Golden, and Golden can help Eli
Loves the talent around him in Barkley, Engram, Shepard and can’t wait to lend a veteran voice to help those guys out and in the locker room in general
MetLife has special meaning to him as he won a SB there with Seattle
It didn’t go so well in Philly as mid-season trades can be tough on skill position players, as he had to learn on the fly mid-season what normally takes a full offseason to pickup
He’s looking forward to getting started to with with Eli and the rest of the offense starting in April
Feels he’s a playmaker and looks forward to being in the slot and on the outside. Prides himself on being able to take a 3 yard pass and turn it into a 15-20 yard gain
Overall it was a good, quick interview. Tate is definitely a professional and will bring a good veteran presence to the team, along with his WR skills. Looking forward to him on the field.
+1
Tate seems like a good dude.
Good comparison
No, that was me paraphrasing what he said about how they can help each other out. I guess I was too descriptive.
