A co-worker of mine who claims to know someone with an NFC West team told me that a Josh Rosen trade is not, I repeat, NOT imminent, but the Giants ARE interested in Rosen and are keeping tabs. He said that Cardinals want a first rounder, but will "settle" for a second rounder if they conclude that Kyler Murray is their QB of the future, which many believe they will.
However, the Cardinals may be willing to Hasson Reddick (specifically) in any Rosen deal in order to get a better pick. Giants would presumably be interested because apparently, James Bettcher was the driving force behind the Reddick pick and think he has "the potential to be an All-Pro." He thinks that the Giants will probably be willing to part with 17 if the deal is Rosen AND Reddick.
i don't think you can use that. Reddick has played nothing like a 1st round pick
Who's the 4th? Rosen, Reddick, Peppers, and?

For Beckham basically.

He was a 1st round pick is what I was saying. Hes only been in the league for 2 years. Perhaps a switch back to the 3-4 will help him take that next step.

Zeitler.

yeah they need to play the waiting game with the cardinals they aren't going to keep both on there roster and unless someone is will to give up a #1 (which is highly doubt). I would max give up the #2
Seriously? He was part of the revised package for Beckham.

The Dolphins may give up a 1st.

Really? Im genuinely asking because now you have me freaked out. Didn't we trade Olivier Vernon for Zeitler?

No they wont. Its no secret that they are targeting Tua in 2020.
The Dolphins are going full Tiananmen Square in 2019. They are rolling out the tanks and looking to get a 2020 QB.

Originally it was that with the Giants sending a 4th also for Zeitler and a 5th. Since it wasnt official before the Beckham trade they added both players to the Beckham deal but eliminated the 4th and 5th round picks. So it was Beckham and Vernon for Zeitler, Peppers, 1st and 3rd
Lol- wins the thread

then let them overpay...he isn't worth a first
Giants new logo
Giants move their camp to Skylands Park in Sparta.
Yeah. Im back on board with the Giants 100% if they can pull this off. Right now I think we are a mess, but if they can make something like this happen, my hat will be off.
Sign me up. I like Rosen better than any QB in this draft.
I did lol.
If this is true
Jay on the Island : 8:30 pm : link : reply
And the Giants made this move it would essentially be Beckham and Vernon for Rosen, Zeitler, Reddick, Peppers, and a 3rd.

Still think it would have made more sense if you said we would have been getting back 4 former first round picks for Beckham AND Vernon. But gotcha.
I did lol.

🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ Holy smokes. Lol. Long day and even longer week. Apologies.
This part...."interested in Rosen and are keeping tabs."
I don't know when my co-worker and his friend spoke

His words. My guess is that he meant that the Giants are monitoring the situation.
You must be new here. I'm not a fan of Rosen. I've been pretty vocal about that. He was my fourth ranked QB in the Draft last year.
This is me talking: it's not up to him. He can't veto any trade. Cardinals can send him to wherever they see fit.

Thanks, that's how I would read it. If the report of the Giants disinterest in Haskins is accurate, it makes sense they would monitor Rosen to see what AZ would be looking for in return, and how may other teams are interested as well.
Interesting that Peppers and Reddick are seen as first rounders when we are getting them, but they dont see Flowers or Apple that way.
I know Rosen already had his rookie season but he could probably use a little more time marinating.
AGAIN -
He has NO SAY.
He still gets paid
QBs have long careers usually (if good).
Why would he mind even if he had a say?

Peppers has outplayed both Flowers and Apple so far and is only 23 still which means he will likely continue to improve.
Totally agree, the Cardinals are not exactly in win now mode. They dont have to trade Rosen immediately. They may even want to put him out there in preseason and showcase him for a game to create a market since his rookie season wasnt one for the ages, some of that on him, with a lot of it due to his supporting cast as well.
He doesnt have much say in the matter. The Cardinals are going to maximize their trade value. Hes in year two of a rookie deal. He has no leverage.
Some of these hypothetical trades are ridiculous. And its not just on BBI, its on DC sports radio, too. The Cardinals arent going to give Rosen away.
They have several suitors and the teams being linked most often pick 13, 15, and 17, and who knows who else is out there. If any of these teams think Rosen has franchise-QB talent, they would be insane not to give up their 1st-round pick ... like tomorrow.
How many teams would have given up the 13, 15, or 17 for Eli after the 2004 season? He looked like ass for the most part. Based on this hypothetical scenario, these teams would have made a mistake not using a mid-1st the following year. Rosen is not a bust. He may be in time, but he isnt now. His team was awful.
All it takes is one team to believe the talent is there. The odds of the Giants or any team getting Rosen for a 2nd arent good, let alone a 3rd or a 4th.
Do what?
I'd want a sweetener but Sy said he would consider sending 6.

Than to go somewhere to start. Its a wasted yr for him in his career.

This is a good point. Giants would definitely have not gotten a 1st round pick for Eli after 2004 - probably not even a 2nd.
You summed up what I was trying to say in my rambling post in two sentences. The bottom line is if the Giants think Rosen can be the guy, send the #17 and send it fast. Totally with you on that. Then we pray he isn't Matt Leinart.
I think they will trade him and itll end up being for a second round pick. Maybe a late round swap as well or something.
I would be disappointed if the Giants gave up #17 for him, Id also be surprised. You know they arent in love with him as a player or they would have just drafted him last season. I dont know what he showed this year that would have drastically altered any pre-draft opinion in a positive direction. Also in this scenario the Cards had him in their building for a year and are trying to dump him which is telling.
It appears that New England is also talking with Arizona
The Pats have a lot of picks
If the Giants want Rosen the trade may be the Giants 17th for Arizona s 33rd + Rosen
If I understand you correctly, TMS, you don't care for Josh Rosen. You don't like his game, his personality, his medical history, his background, his outside interests, or the baseball cap he wore in a photo on a golf course three years ago. Thank you for sharing your views. I watch very little college ball, so I rely on fellow posters for insight on prospects and young pros.
Interestingly not a peep on Tates Jerry maguire rendition. If it were Beckham half this board would be having a coronary. Hypocrites...
Interesting take.
And we seemingly get healthier players. Which is important - the best ability is availability.
We need a lot more talent than Reddick and Peppers but they both bring interesting skill sets that you could put in different positions that gives the defense some great flexibility.
t
Element of fans on this board that dont want Giants making any trades unless they a absolutely fleece their trading partner.
There were people here who stated they wouldnt trade Beckham unless they got a 1 and 2 this season and a 1 next season.
Two 1 s and a 2 for a diva slight of build wide receiver who played 16 of last 32 games,
Cant make this stuff up
So sick of it that you posted in this thread multiple times.
Me too. If it's for only a two make the trade and keep walking and don't look back. Can't believe no other team won't offer more than just a two for Rosen alone.
Doesn't his value drop the same amount whether he's dealt any time between today and the draft? If the Cardinals offer to deal him today, it's because everyone knows they want to draft Kyler Murray. So, whether it's today or on draft day, the same assumptions should be drawn, no? And that impacts his trade value the same? That said, i don't think the Cardinals are trading Rosen. I think they know what they got in him, and plan to build around him.

Outside of the Cards' front office, lots of people assume what the Cards are going to do, but nobody knows. Between now and draft day, the teams that have needs for QBs are going to try to fill them before the draft, so teams that are in the market for Rosen today may not be in a month. Fewer buyers competing for him generally means less value. If the Cards can't get what they consider to be value for him, they could decide to keep him and pass on Murray
