Last year Eifert signed a 1 year 5.5 mill deal. He was injured again and unsigned right now. CIN just signed the other TE CJ Uzomah to 3 years and 18 mill which is a good deal for both sides because he can play.
That leaves Eifert available with CIN only offering another modest 1 year deal.
When healthy, Eifert is not only one of the best at his position but an impact player. A TD machine. Red zone monster matchup and we need one. And yes, he can play with Engram.
Giants should sign this guy and take a shot with his health. Not a 1 year deal but longer. And take the risk he stays healthy. He’s young and could be the steal of FA. We need FA HRs like this guy couple give us.
Ellison is a nice player but he makes way too mich for his skill set. It won’t cost more to replace him with Eifert. And the talent bump at the position would be enormous.
Let’s save this disappointing FA season with Eifert.
There are some nice TE prospects this year but we have so many holes. Use the picks on other spots (defense!), sign Eifert, & cut Ellison.

Also he's 29 at start of season so I don't know where "young" comes from.
He will never be what he was. 2015 is a lifetime ago.
If he's willing to sign a Pulley like deal, I can be convinced, but I'd guess he's looking for 1 year deals to try and stay healthy.
If they signed him I would keep Ellison because chance are they would still need him when Eiffert goes down.

We should have had Eifert in. Checked out the ankle. And given him more security than that 1 year deal he got in CIN.
