Best of the Rest Left

bigfrank612 : 3/16/2019 6:49 am
The top FA’s are signed, but there’s quite a few difference makers left...

On defense...

DT Timmy Jernigan
DT Danny Shelton
LB Justin Houston
LB Mark Barron
CB Darqueze Denard
CB Brashaud Breeland
FS Tre Boston (prob don’t need a Safety now)

On Offense...

OT Mike Remmers
OT LaAdrian Waddle
OT Jeremy Parnell
TE Tyler Eifert (Can Help in rotational role)
WR Chris Hogan

There’s other names, but these are a few who fit our scheme, and there’s others I’m missing I’m sure...
I could see Shelton at the nose.

Houston would be a very good get, imv, but I see too many guaranteed dollars albeit flush next year
Still want Remmers

.
Shelton
Allen in CNJ : 3/16/2019 7:17 am : link
is a guy that can help us
it's to bad we couldn't fit Houston and Remmers in
DavidinBMNY : 3/16/2019 8:01 am : link
Both cut, so both wouldn't count against any comp picks.

I don't think they have the cash for it.
~$10 mm for rookies
~8 mm for injury / transactions during the year

And they have to sign other bodies. Maybe one more guy they can sign.
I would also take a look at WR Michael Crabtree

As he was cut he wouldn’t factor into compensatory picks.
Shaquille Barrett, LB Denver
5BowlsSoon : 3/16/2019 8:06 am : link
Has he signed?

They really have very little cap space. I like Crabtree but if they make another signing I'd rather see it at ROT,Edge.

They would need to engineer a way to get more cap and there isn't a lot of room left. A Jenkins trade would get it done or a Manning release.

Also on the cut list
Mike in NY : 3/16/2019 8:07 am : link
Jordy Nelson looked much better after Oakland traded Cooper. He isn’t a deep threat, but would give a reliable target for Eli.

EDGE has a lot of talent in the draft. Also #17 or our 2nd Round Pick could give us a shot at Dillard or Risner.

What about restructuring contracts like Zeitler or Rhett Ellison?
The guy I would look at is Cobb
The 12th Man : 3/16/2019 8:12 am : link
From Green Bay. I think with the WR’s we have he would be nice complement and probably get him on the cheap.

He’s another slot guy though. We already have Shep and Tate. Need an outside guy with some size.
I like the idea of 1 yr deals for younger FA w upside (a la C Coleman)
Eric on Li : 3/16/2019 9:16 am : link
guys who fit that profile and may fit our scheme/needs that are currently available include:

NT - Shelton
DB - PJ Williams
Edge - Eli Harold
DT - Jernigan
Edge - Aaron Lynch
Edge - Cassius Marsh
Edge - Shane Ray

Bringing Latimer back also makes plenty of sense. And I'd make sure to lock down either Schraeder or Remmers for RT.
Of guys left
GoDeep13 : 3/16/2019 10:11 am : link
Shane Ray
Timmy Jernigan
Danny Shelton
And Darqueze Dennard

Are guys id take serious looks at. Especially Dennard who I think is still yet to play his best ball.
We are desperate for a NT
Jim Bur(n)t : 3/16/2019 10:54 am : link
To rote with Tomlinson... Shelton at the right price would be a good get. Assume we will be drafting one as well.
I would seriously
eric2425ny : 3/16/2019 11:07 am : link
consider Shelton and Dennard.

He caught my eye too. He's at least average which we could use at cb right now. Could still grow.
