Being buddies and College teammates are great and one thing. The other thing is what, iyo, happens when one sees more throws than the other? Ego problems or acceptance?
As an aside, re Eli. Assuming he starts the whole year (with Rosen or college pick in tow) and of course with an improved OL, does he SUBCONSCIOUSLY feel more relaxed without “having to get OBJ involved” most of the time and finally being able to spread the ball all around? Just curious if you believe that could/would be the case.
Whether Landry is a #1 or not is secondary. Landry believes he is a #1 and his targets have reflected that.
How will he co-exist with OBJ who really is a #1?

he’s a very good #2 and because of that I think they will coexist just fine.

They’ve been wanting to play together their entire time in the league, I’m pretty sure they know the drill.
These dream team type of roster builds NEVER work out. Something always happens to derail the season, whether its injuries or something off the field or whatever. Between Mayfield, OBJ, and Landry - thats a lot of egos. I can see them coming out hot to start the season and then it falls apart before week 17.
I might sound like a disgruntled Giants fan but like I said, these things never work out.

I happen to see it the same way. We could be wrong. Or right

While the Browns seem to be trending upward, they're still the Browns. Just as I won't count the Patriots dynasty as done until they start missing the playoffs, I won't expect success out of Cleveland until I actually see it happen.
While I don't really like a lot of what Gettleman has done so far, there has been a consistent theme of jettisoning guys whose attitudes didn't fit a winning culture. Beckham was arguably an example of this, and you could argue that Snacks was another - guys who are extremely talented but who did little to build a winning attitude in the locker room.
It's foolish to say that the Giants got better by getting rid of their best receiver, but I'm not about to crown the Browns of all teams as winners in anything until they actually prove it.

Need to add Njoku, Hunt, and Chubb to that also. Chubb doesn't seem the type to to have a big ego but Hunt and Njoku sure do
Eli: I think his main thing will be having a stable, consistent, reliable pocket. IF he gets that, I think we're going to see a much more relaxed and effective Eli. Or we'll find he's permanently shell shocked. The OBJ effect is more the poisoning of the team rather than derailing Eli.
We'll miss OBJ's talent, but not his poison. And I think IF the OL can give a pocket, Eli has a good chance at returning to himself.

Finally, someone addresses the second part of my question..😎ðŸ‘ðŸ¼ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ¿
Eli has always functioned better when he hasn’t felt compelled to force feed targets to players. Shockey was making a stink about his usage/targets and when Eli tried to force the issue the team suffered. When he went down and Smith came back the offense flourished.
This wasn’t the primary problem when Beckham was here though. The source has been the terrible OL. But to me it seemed like the offense had issues performing last year when they were trying to make sure Beckham and Barkley both got their touches. With Beckham out of the fold it will be easier to run an offense featuring Barkley while still being able to spread it around in the passing game.
This. The first we ever heard even the tiniest peep that OBJ might be jealous of SB becoming the face of the franchise was AFTER he'd been traded... IE it was BS spin. OBJ'S ego is big, but that makes it easy for him to celebrate the success of his teammates.
He was never pissed Eli was throwing to others; he was pissed Eli didn't see him when he was wide open. There's a difference.

Has Beckham eve4 been upset when his teammate had a big catch, nice run, or scored a TD. He is the first one there sometimes more excited than the person that actually had the play. Show me one teammate to saod Beckham was a bad teammate. And we aren't even talking about some random teammates. We are talking about extremely close friends. Ridiculous thread Big Blue.

Except, for the first time, he has a receiving complement in Landry that he has never had before. We shall see
