It was mentioned yesterday, as asshat info, that the Giants wanted to move up from 17 to get Devin White. Like many I thought why not take him at 6, perhaps a bit high for him. Then I see all the interest in Rashan Gary and wonder if he's the guy at 6, and then move up from 17 to get Devin White.
Exactly how I would describe White. Better closing speed than Smith too.

He basically does everything that Roquan Smith does, except he's bigger, a better blitzer, but with a tad less instincts (probably because he's still learning the nuances of the LB position after switching over from RB. That'll come over time.)

Every time i watch him, his closing speed becomes more and more impressive.
Now, if the Giants took White at 6, should they move up for a DL prospect that maybe dropped a bit??
lol, what a stiff
I prefer Oliver over Gary.
I agree with this. I'd rather draft a pass rusher, but assuming Josh Allen is gone, I feel like Sweat fits the 3-4 better than Gary, and I'm not sure if either will be as good of a pure football players as White, so I'd be just fine with White at 6. I'd be happy with a pass rusher at 6 too though and Devin White at 17.
With White, read something recently where it was said that he’s more a 4-3,LB. if that’s true, and I have no idea if it is, why would he be in the mix at 6 or 17? Especially given all the other needs

If both white and Bush (or Bush and white) are gone at 17, that probably means you have an 'any other years' top 10 dl again at 17, you draft the player as well. Bad ass front 3 (or 4,5) is a good thing.

I'd go with a an OT with the 17th pick in Risner over the linebacker whom I think would be Bush (I expect WHite to be gone.). The cost for OLINE is going up. Next year in Free agency we can find "Bush" at a cheaper price if need be that we can "Risner" who can play all positions along the OLINe.
Though I wouldn't hate having Bush -- I was initially on him if Gmen didn't take a QB in rd 1 but now I think it best to get an OLINEMAN with that 17th pick. Give him a year under his belt so when you get a QB we'd be ready roll with a decent enough OLINE to protect the eventual young QB.
Positional drafting, which I have advocated for strongly, greatly, is a better strategy in rds 3-7.
Rd 1-2 you want greatness and to attack the market.

I doubt there is much difference between Risner and Bush. I don;t see Bush as a great player -- just a good one which I see Risner. I think after top 7-10 or so they are no longer "great" or "near great" they are "good" players.
I wouldn't call that value exactly. Close but not exactly. One would also compare that player to others in previous years. If they don't equal a first round or top ten in another year, but are ranked high due to low supply, maybe hold off until it balances in the long term view.
