Think it’s fair to say wheeler cannot be the option going into this year. Barkley and the running game will be featured. If the RT that came in yesterday (forget his name( isn’t signed is this draft deep on Tackles such that a second or third rd pick can get a good tackle to start? RT is basically a mauler skill with history showing talent out of the draft can start day one and be very effective. I just don’t know how deep the talent pool is in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. I do think we are moving up in the draft with our 2 1st rd licks to grab a qb. That IS the plan.
2. We should draft a tackle to push Wheeler if Remmers doesn’t come on board.
I would rather sign Mike Remmers to start at RT for a year or two giving the Giants a solid option that would allow them another year to find their long term answer at RT in the draft. I would prefer to find an upgrade at center on day two in that scenario. Grab Garrett Bradbury in round 2 and then trade up in round 3 to grab either Cajuste or McGary to groom behind Remmers.
We have 12 picks. We better draft every single position on the offensive line.
Yep.
I think pick 37 is the sweet spot to address the RT position.
Was it a 'we know you are healthy and will pay you starter money for 3 or 4 years' ?
That will let us know how much a priority getting an additional RT via the draft will be?
Now if he doesn't sign here , depending on if we bring in another guy and what we expect from that player will determine RT priority for the draft.

I agree but at 17 we are talking a border-line stud that could fall to us in one of Dillard or Juwaan Taylor or Cody Ford. 2 of those 3 have potential to slide over to LT (which increases value quite a bit as well). I really like Risner too and while more versatile I dont think he has quite the upside those other 3 have.

If Taylor or Dillard fall to the 17th pick then the Giants would be wise to pounce. Both could start out at RT and then move over to LT when Solder's play begins to slip.
Tend to think COdy will be gone too. Get Risner at 17.

Ok but what if Ferrell or Wilkins are sitting there? A lot of people here (myself included) would’ve been fine with either at 6 a few months ago. Nothing has really changed.
