Agreed. The stadium is shit and the way they did the PSLs drove a lot of long time diehard fans out of the seats. I also don’t think that Mara Tisch are good at running a football team in general. I think a lot of what made the Giants great was thanks to decisions made by Wellington Mara and the further on we get from his passing the baton to his son the further we get from the things hthat at always made this organization great.

Get out of the way. The only difference between the Maras and the Hess/Johnson’s is that the Mara’s hired Young and Accorsi and the Jets hires who did they did.

I don’t think the Mara / Tisches are all they special. Look how they bungled the stadium.

No shareowner owns more than a token amount of stock. So whether the is mismanaged or not it cannot be moved to another city from Green Bay.

The Hunts and the Rooneys. Paul Allen in Seattle was another good one but unfortunately passed away last year.

And it starts with the classiest owners in sports. They may not always make the best decisions, but their character is above reproach. I may complain about the decisions, but I never complain about the people. Why else would I be on this site on an early Sunday morning in March when the team has been brutal for years???

I am hopeful that with Gettleman and the decisions that have been made over the past two years leading into this year's draft, that they finally realize the fundamental mistake of the past seven years: assigning blame to Gilbride and Coughlin when the primary issue was always GM driven -- bad personnel acquisition decisions and faulty talent management processes.

Hopefully they are now fully back on track towards recapturing the winning formula for this team. 1) NFL leading calibre defense that reliably stops teams from scoring in big moments; 2) solid, ball control, mistake free offense that wins time of possession; 3) ruthless "team first" culture that punishes selfish and non-winning behaviors without the slightest trepidation of player/fan/media backlash.

If they get these things right, they will not only be the best owners, but they will again be super bowl winning owners...

Throwing McAdoo under the bus in the Eli not starting fiasco, he was in on the decision and ran away when it happened! He has been trying to make it up to Eli since, that is not a good owner. The Mara's have not been great owners for the Giants at all, the Mara that was good was the original one, Wellington's brother Tim, he was a good owner. Wellington and John have not been that good, they have not been horrendous either I guess. Wellington also did not handle the Bavaro situation very well at all, following the 1990 Super Bowl where Bavaro gave every inch of his body for that title the classy owners paid him peanuts then released him, he then became an Eagle because of the owner, never forgave Mara for that one.

I agree that the stadium sucks. But the rest? We’ve had 5 Super Bowl appearances in my lifetime. We’ve had three HOF coaches (Reeves in there too and he should already be in HOF), we’ve had GY,EA,JR as GMs and say what you like about any of them, any one of them has accomplished more than most GMs for other teams in the past half century. We’ve had two franchise QBs and any number of GOAT and HOF players. I mean, what more does an NFL fan want from ownership?

I think the only owners even close are the Rooney’s. Sure Kraft has won but he’s just not someone with character I respect. And, he’s had Brady and Belichick, so maybe let’s see what he does without either one. Lurie, maybe, love the sustainability of the Linc but he’s hardly built a football dynasty.

I thought the Eli benching was a low point for the Giants and I do think that Mara had more to do with that than he’s let known. But that aside, I think the truth is that we extremely fortunate to be Giants fans because Mara Tisch run the organization like a family business for families of Giants fans.

handling of the Eli situation fucked the organization in the eyes of so many over these past few years, but the Mara's aren't even close to the top anymore.
