18 vs 19 Giants

Gettleman has had some questionable free agent signings but overall I see the team improving.

Likely the first 3 picks(unless the we don't like Haskins press is a smoke screen) will be a defensive end, a linebacker and a right tackle in some order.

On offense the receiving corp will be much worse than in the games that Beckham played but not worse than those in which he did not play. The offensive line with the return of Halapio the addition of Kevin Zeitler and a new right tackle from the 6,17 or 37 slot will be vastly improved.Barkley and Eli will be much more effective behind that line.

The defense has lost Collins and Vernon but the addition of Markus Golden,Sam Beal.Antoine Bethea, Jabrill Peppers and the players from the 19 draft should result in a much better unit
I just want to see a team that can

make a few 4th quarter stops this year.
I agree

I like the direction the team is going and think they could even get themselves into the playoffs with a great draft and no player gets injured this year—my worry is depth. I think we need a great draf this year and next to be able to be successful despite inevitable injuries.

+1!
Will it show in the record?

If so, and we don't draft QB this year, it will cost us a fortune to move up and grab a QB in 2020.
Posters really want to point to the games that OBJ was missing

and how the Offense performed well.

You really want to go there?

I think folks are overlooking Tomlinson and Hill

These are two very good football players who could make a big jump in their second year in the system. And Mcntosh has some upside as well. These guys could make the D look a lot better.

I agree but Carter is who I am most excited about.

Yes, another second year player with some upside.

Can afford to give up a lot in next years draft to get a QB, the reason is that they will have about 100 mil is cap space to improve the team, if they don't get a QB in this draft then they must next draft because Eli is a free agent. When we added Eli we gave up a lot to get him, but the next season w had a lot of cap space and added Pierce, McKenzie, and Plax and we went from aa 6 win team to an 11 win team.
When we drafted Eli the move was from 4 to 1

If this team drafts well and we get some difference makers, the top QBs are basically out of reach. People make it sound like they can just get any player they want.
Regarding the OP
UberAlias : 3/17/2019 10:23 am : link
I tend to agree that they are improving. But a lot depends on how well we draft with these picks.
I don't see it at all

Peprill is not as good as Collins, nor Golden as good as Vernon. Bethea is 34 and while he should be better than Riley, that is a low bar. Beal may or not be any good, but even if he is, we still need . one more starting caliber CB. You can't get that plus a right tackle, plus a WR plus a LB plus another pass rusher (plus a QB of the future) with three good draft picks.

Collins, Vernon, and especially Beckham are players we should have been building around, not getting rid of.
I think that as of this moment we're weaker than last season.

I'm hoping that the first 3 draft choices will be immediate impact players, though, and we will be stronger through the 2019/2020 season, and stronger still the next year as the young guys improve.

It's a long process.
