With all the needs on D, the depth at Tackle but no real blue-chipper RT, and pass rusher being a critical impact position as well as a CB with shut down potential....
If no QB and Q.Will, Bosa, Allen are gone.
2 guys that haven't gotten as much pub (at least recently) Brian Burns and Greedy Williams.
My guy at 6 is still likely Montez Sweat. But he is still somewhat raw (a lot less developed as a pass rusher and can't cover like Allen for instance). Still like him a lot and he could buck the learning curve but he probably doesn't start consistently impacting until year 2.
With that said, the 3 obvious blue chip defenders right now are Bosa, Q.Will, and Allen. All 3 have shown enough between developed technique and/or freakish skill and/or measurables that they could highly impact year 1.
But all 3 of those guys will likely be gone.
So which leads me to the question are there are guys on D that could critically impact year one or at least have the potential to do so?
As Ive watched more tape, the guy that really sticks out to me is Greedy Williams. He just shuts down the other side of the field almost no.matter the WR he's plays against. He mirrors routes amazingly well and has tremendous closing speed. He's is one of the better CBs at least potential wise I have seen in the last 5 years. A great great man to man CB which is what Bettcher tends to like for his ideal strategy which is heavy blitzing.
Now on to Burns. I haven't watched as much tape, but he seems to be a bit more advanced in the pass rush department than Sweat. Not quite as freakish measurables but may be a better technique guy. Though less Stout vs the run also probably better coverage ability than Sweat. He maybe closer to the Chandler Jones type that Bettcher has utilized with great success in the past.
Not seeing it. I see alot more than that. I see him toying with receivers somewhat like what Revis did in college.
That type of skill is pretty rare, to mirror guys without having to expend tremendous effort.
I'd be looking for him @ 37. If he's not there, no sweat.
That's the sweet spot for him though, I think.
Now at 17..would be a nice get!!!
Now there could be attitude stuff clouding this so if that is the case itll come down to what Giants think of his character

Arc, trying to think outside the box a bit because Montez seems to be the only guy that makes any sense if no QB. I dont see OT there because I dont see a guy like Tyron Smith at that spot. Taylor is not quite that guy and Jonah isnt either. But a true shut down CB is worthy of that high a pick.
Actually you can argue if no QB , talent levels out quite a bit after Q.Will, Bosa and Allen.
i also love polite. this is why they should trade down from 6
I have no interest in Greedy or any CB in this class at #6 and maybe not at #17 though several guys make you look twice.
Gary certainly has measurables and size but a glaring lack of production relative to talent there. I dont see a natural pass rusher at all. Like Jadaveon never developed into an elite pass rusher someone of his freakish ability should have.
Wilkins, love the character and work ethic but the ability is not quite freakish enough to warrant 6 IMO.
Devin , I don't see the ridiculous diagnosing ability you'd want out of a LB chosen that high if he's not an elite pass rusher.
But as a 3/4 OLB he could still work. Dont you think?
Burns will be good (IMO) but he will more than likely be available at 17. If we take a LB at 6, it better be White.
My hope is that a few QB hungry teams trade up and take some QBs off the board before the Giants pick. That way some can't miss super players will be there for the plucking. I hope we go with best ER at 6 and best OT at 17.
Was Floyd being utilized in a 3-4 or 4-3?

Unless there are severe character concerns I highly doubt he gets even to 20. Guess we'll see.
I agree with you. If I had to rank them I'd go with : Sweat (depending on the heart condition), followed closely by Greedy Williams and then Burns.
Jaylon Ferguson, Giants LOVE this kid. Could he have a Kalil Mack rise up the boards?

All time NCAA leader in sacks. 6-5, 260. Same size as Sweat.
