Then what style qb is the best match for him?
I think we at least a an that is a threat for a read option or a bootleg to keep the defense honest. Also the qb needs to be a good screen qb. I recognize I just listed two traits that Eli is not and still think you could win with a tradition not too mobile pocket qb, but for the future I think at least a potential situational running threat will make Barkley even more dangerous.
Also, what other positions do we need to upgrade to best enhance his skills set?
I think we need a blocking Tight end at at least one other player that keeps the safety’s honest—or can that be Engram?
Gronk has been the linchpin of NE offense, allowing for the versatility of either a spread passing offense or I power run they have been going to of late, so would be huge to pair SB with a two way TE, SB himself being a versatile fit for any O. Evana Engrams I would trade, definitely not an in line TE, might be a better blocker with more angles and movement, either H-back or wide out.
IE current roster
We do not know today what we will be built like until we move on from Eli.
Eli is good in play action but Barkley can do a lot of different things.
We could draft Murray and become a spread hybrid like in KC

Although that is a great point, and I understand an injury can change everything with Barkley, I think this is a unique situation.
I always think how Detroit wasted Barry Sanders and what they could have done differently.
I think making all the conditions perfect to get the most out of Barkley would still work with out him. We can be special if we build on what makes him great.
We should have given Eli a strong oline and tall reciecera other than Barsen after Plax was done.

Normally true but Barkley will prob run the ball about 20 to 25 times a game and when it is a pass will still get the ball 5-7 times a game that way.
I think with the Rule changes it is going to get easier to play qb and teams will be built to stop the pass. QB is still important and you need the right one to win but what style of QB to pair with Barkley I think is really important to consider and it sounds like the Giants are thinking that as well.
Quote:
You do not draft a QB based on what suits other players period. If drafted well the QB will outlast all the skill position.

AL you need is a veyr good QB. What makes SB great is that all he needs is juts like what any other great player needs-- other very good players. SB fits anywhere.
IMO what he needs is a talented QB dnd a good OLINE -- then worry about wr's and tight ends.
The point is even hall of fame caliber qbs need running backs for instance Aikman had Emmitt Smith and Montana had Roger Craig.

Lynch, Blount, Michel.
Unfortunately, Eli is back. And teams will, obviously, commit to stuffing and pummeling Barkley, and invite our 38 year old QB to beat them.
So Barkley is going to need relief. Gallman is nice, but not nice enough.
He can block and catch.
He can block and catch.
Is his blocking elite or average?
I've advocated for east west and shanny ball, outside zone runs and opposite side roll outs as bread and butter for years.
But the constant insistence that everything happen next season is the only place you loose me.
Build up the D, front seven and OL, to the max, and find that player in 2020.

So A one read run first QB who almost never was under Center is now a play action master. Yeah. Thank God the Cards are sold on him.
what does that even mean? I hear that too much. We wasted the end of Eli's career too.
These players make their own career. The ball is snapped and from there it is up to them.
Do you realize how many fall of fame players there are who never even made it to a superbowl?
Barkley had an excellent season and is considered one of the best running backs in the game on a shitty team and with a sub par OL last season.

I am intrigued by Robert Martin.
