most of the trailers make it seems like Axe and Chuck "team up" to take down Taylor (Axe) and Jeffcoat (Chuck).
Not sure I like those two teaming up, but Giamatti is suck a good actor I'm interested in seeing how they pull it off.

I'm not sure they were friends in the beginning (or now), I think to start the show they were more like frenemies, I think Chuck was always jealous of the attention Wendy gave Axe and Axe always had a thing for Wendy.
Now they are useful to each other, so they'll let bygones be bygones and combine for their own interests.

I think it was season two but Wendy did mention how Axe and Chuck were once friends. It was either that or they had a great deal of respect for one another. I can see Chuck trying to screw over Axe when he gets what he wants from their alliance.
Watch the awesome mini-series he did years on HBO - “John Adams”. He was absolutely superb.
