1 Arizona - QB Kyler Murray, Oklahoma
I believe this is what the new regime wants, and what they'll do with Rosen? TBD.

2 San Francisco - DT Quinnen Williams, Alabama
This is quite simply a no brainer pick for GM John Lynch.

3 NY Jets - Edge Nick Bosa, Ohio State
Perfect fit for Jets lands right in their lap.

4 CINCINATTI (trade with OAK) - QB Drew Lock, Missouri
Surprise trade up and pick here, as the new Bengals regime lead by Sean McVay disciple Zac Taylor, wants to get his own new QB to build the franchise around, and elect to go with Lock over Haskins.

5 Tampa Bay - Edge Josh Allen, Kentucky
The Bucs' break my heart with this pick...How I want him to fall to #6! But he's too good of a fit in Tampa and he's too good to pass over.

6 NY Giants - ILB Devin White, LSU
Here's the deal...White is a monster of a linebacker prospect and could be a "gold jacket guy". He's an instant starter who upgrades the defense. I don't have any qualms about this pick, and he's an excellent fall-back option to Allen.

7 Jacksonville - OT Jonah Williams, Alabama
I think Jax is going to try to give Foles every chance to succeed, and they'll try to help him out with the best OT in this draft.

8 Detroit - DT Ed Oliver, Houston
The Lions need a lot of help on defense, and an interior pass rush to line up next to Snacks Harrison helps everyone.

9 Buffalo - WR D.K. Metcalf, Mississippi
Someone is going to be infatuated with Metcalf. Why not the Bills, who have underneath receiver talent in Cole Beasley and Zay Jones. Josh Allen now has a monster receiver he can't out throw.

10 Denver - CB Greedy Williams, LSU
Had a tough time with this pick and the Broncos could go several different directions, including Haskins or Rashan Gary, or even T.J. Hockenson. But I just feel like CB is such a need here, and Williams is perhaps the top corner in the draft, and something tells me Haskins is going to slip.

11 Oakland - Edge, Montez Sweat, Mississippi State
After trading down for an extra 1st in 2020 and an extra 2nd this year, Oakland makes a splash with Sweat to try to make Raider Nation forget about Khalil Mack.

12 Green Bay - DE Rashan Gary, Michigan
This is just good value for the Packers to get Gary here. Mike Daniels is entering into the final year of his deal and finished 2018 on IR with a foot injury. The versatile Gary just fits here.

13 Miami - QB Dwayne Haskins, Ohio State
The Dolphins considered trading up for Haskins, and can't believe he fell to them at 13.

14 Atlanta - DT Jeffery Simmons, Mississippi State
The Falcons are desperate for improvement at the POA, and Simmons is one of the best players in the draft in that area. They simply have to wait a bit for him to recover from the ACL, but they are willing to do that for an elite talent like him.

15 Washington - Edge Clelin Ferrell, Clemson
Slots in for the departed Preston Smith. I could see the 'Skins prioritizing QB here, but I think they wait a little longer and perhaps look in the 2nd round to get their man.

16 Carolina - OT Andre Dillard, Washington State
Dillard makes a ton of sense for the Panthers.

17 NY Giants - DT Christian Wilkins, Clemson
I tried to see some kind of way in which Wilkins wouldn't drop this far, and perhaps he won't. But he's really good, has exceptional character, and fits this team like a glove.

18 Minnesota - TE T.J. Hockenson, Iowa
This guy is a complete package TE that will really help Kirk Cousins, the passing game, and Dalvin Cook in the running attack. Tight end is a luxury pick, but the Vikings can afford to take one, and Hockenson is an elite talent. Daniel Jeremiah says he is one of the best blocking tight ends he has EVER evaluated.

19 Tennessee - Edge Brian Burns, Florida State
The Titans are looking for pass rushing help to complement newcomer Cameron Wake after Brian Orakpo's retirement.

20 Pittsburgh - RB Josh Jacobs, Alabama
The Steelers aren't looking to replace Antonio Brown here, but they get a lot better replacing Le'Veon Bell with an elite RB talent in Jacobs.

21 Seattle - OT Jawaan Taylor, Florida
Reinvestment along the OL is very much needed for the 'Hawks, and they feel fortunate to get Taylor at this spot in the first round.

22 Baltimore - LB Devin Bush, Michigan
The Ravens are a team that values linebackers. Bush is a good one.

23 Houston - NT Dexter Lawrence, Clemson
Why? Because this is the pick that AFC South competitors will just hate. As if JJ Watt and franchise tagged Jadeveon Clowney needed any more help, right?

24 Oakland - CB Trayvon Mullen, Clemson
I actually feel like Mullen has a chance to be the first CB taken off the board.

25 Philadelphia - OT Greg Little, Ole Miss
Jason Peters can't play forever, and Little projects well as the Eagles' franchise LT of the future.

26 Indianapolis - CB Deandre Baker, Georgia
The Jim Thorpe awardee adds to an improving Indy defense.

27 Oakland - DL Jerry Tillery, Notre Dame
Oakland continues their shopping spree with five picks in the first two rounds, with this being their third and final third rounder. Tillery fits nicely at the 3-4 DE position, and Oakland needs help there.

28 LA Chargers - OT Cody Ford, Oklahoma
Area of concern for the Chargers, but might they take Daniel Jones here?

29 Kansas City - WR A.J. Brown, Ole Miss
Why not add another dangerous target for Mahomes?

30 Green Bay - Edge Jaylon Ferguson, Louisiana Tech
The Pack continue to get better in the front 7 of their defense.

31 LA Rams - TE Noah Fant, Iowa
The one skill position on offense the Rams didn't have a mismatch at was TE. Fant brings a middle of the field option to Goff.

32 Tampa Bay (after TRADE up to Patriots pick from #39) - QB Daniel Jones, Duke
Bruce Arians might want to get his own signal caller in there, and a trade up back into the first gives him the extra 5th year team option for Daniel Jones, while also jumping the Giants and the Raiders at the top of Round 2. Winston has embarrassed the organization more than once, and hasn't made up for it on the field with exceptional play. Jones has some real qualities in an NFL QB, and I can see the Bucs valuing a clean signal caller here at the end of the first round.

------

Bonus - 2nd round to Giants pick at #37 overall:

33 Arizona - CB Byron Murphy, Washington
Value pick at a premium position for a team with a lot of holes.

34 Indianapolis - WR N'Keal Harry, Arizona State
Andrew Luck gets a big, boundary receiver to complement T.Y. Hilton.

35 Oakland - S Johnathan Abram, Mississippi State
Oakland goes defense for the fourth time in a row in the first 35 picks.

36 San Francisco - WR Marquise Brown, Oklahoma
San Francisco wanted a threat at WR, they finally get one in the mercurial "Hollywood" Brown with elite speed.

37 NY Giants - OT Dalton Risner, Kansas State
Kind of an ideal, dream scenario for the Giants, to have the versatile Risner there for them at #37.

-----

There you have it. How would you feel about landing Devin White, Christian Wilkins, and Dalton Risner in this draft? I don't know about you, but I'd be pretty stoked.

That's too perfect a scenario for the Giants, and IMO falsely arranged by having the Falcons take Simmons at 14 over Wilkins. Wilkins healthy is an easy and logical choice over Simmons that high post his ACL tear, ain't happening.

Would love it if it did... But it's not.

I can appreciate that. But if there's any knock on Wilkins it's his strength at the POA and against the run. Simmons is a dominant run defender. This was Atlanta's fatal flaw last year. They were so lacking at the POA and just got ran all over.

Simmons is easily a top 7 pick if there is no injury (or character) flag. So the question really is about how far does the flag drop him. If you believe he's going to be back by October or November of his rookie year, and I would say that's fair, and this is obviously a guy you're investing in for 5 seasons...how much are you going to drop him? The Falcons don't have a shot at Simmons if he doesn't tear his ACL. But this is just a mock, of course, anything could happen and you might be right on. Wilkins could go higher than 17. Brian Burns would be an option then at #17, I would think.

Thoughts on going OL in both first and second round, to solidify the line?

Are these guys values at those picks? Are they long gone?

#6 Greedy Williams- I know this wont be a popular pick amongst BBI brethren but I see a rare potential shut down CB to pair with Janoris. He easily mirrors high caliber Receivers. Its impressive how he stays stuck to guys that are going be quality NFL wideouts. Erases them, Metcalf ,Ridley, etc. Bettchers D now greatly improved for ththe passing game with decent or better players at Safety and CB.

Defense and the O-line along with a good WR that come in now and make an impact.
#17- Jaylon Ferguson - Edge with more size than Burns at 6'5 260 and NCAA all time record for sacks. Giants have been quietly all over this guy for a while now.

#32- Cody Ford OT- Trade up with Pats for a 4th and 6th round pick. (Matches on value chart) monster tackle in the mold Gettleman likes , could lock down the RT position starting day 1.

#95- Hakeem Butler- 6'6 228 and can juke smaller corners out of their pants with his route running. Ridiculous catch radius and consistently shows separation on tape from smaller CBs with his 4.48 speed.

Fair enough, I was assuming Simmons will lose a whole year, but I don't know that. Have you seen anything regarding his rehab and expected return? I think he's right up there with the big 3 - Q. Williams, Bosa, and Allen if not for the character question and his ACL injury. But I'm guessing it drops him to the 2nd round. Heck in several mocks against computers I took him for the Giants at 37.

1. Josh Allen Edge best pure rusher in draft
1. Cody Ford OT. Right side of Zeitler and Ford will make Saquon even more dangerous
2. Nasir Adderley FS. Him and Peppers make a nice young pair
3. Oshine Ximanes. Edge. Bookend with Allen
4. Terrill Hanks LB. heat seeking missile with speed and 3 down LB
4. Vosean Joseph LB. probably won’t be here but gives Giants a ton of speed for coverage
5. Justin Layne CB. Tall and Rangy
5. Savion Smith CB. Underrated in Bamas defense
5. Jalin Moore RB. Saw an App St game in person this kid is very good and gives Barkley a solid back up
6. Albert Huggins DT. Probably biggest sleeper in draft Don’t think he lasts but he will be a very good pro
6. Terry Godwin WR. Playmaker skills from Georgia
7. Trey Pipkins. OT. Sioux City. Getting talked about

That's exaclty what I would do get two Olinemen with 17th and 37th pick. -- but in regards to your picks I don't think any shot for Allen. Thus with 6th pick I want GMen to take a DL rusher-- so I'd go with Oliver. We lost Vernon so imo GMEN need a rusher from the DLIne.

Thne I'd prefer Risner over Dillard.

Then I don't think Bradberry would be available but possible. ANd if he isn't I'd go with McCoy. Now you've given Barkley toys to play with.

Sets us up with a QB.

Trade for Rosen with a 2020 2nd rd pick + 3rd rnd pick.....

6 Greedy Williams- I see a rare potential shut down CB to pair with Janoris. He easily mirrors high caliber Receivers. Its impressive how he stays stuck to guys that are going be quality NFL wideouts. #17- Jaylon Ferguson - Edge with more size than Burns at 6'5 260 and NCAA all time record for sacks. Giants have been quietly all over this guy for a while now. If Sweat at 6, Deandre Baker here another very good CB but not quite the cover shutdown potential that Greedy has.

#32- Cody Ford OT- Trade up with Pats for a 4th and 6th round pick. (Matches on value chart) monster tackle in the mold Gettleman likes , could lock down the RT position starting day 1.

#64- Hakeem Butler- Trade of Sterling Shepard to Patriots for their 2nd round pick. 6'6 228 and can juke smaller corners out of their pants with his route running. Lance Zierlein's latest one-round mock won't be popular here.
Big Blue Blogger : 3/22/2019 10:13 am : link
006: D.K. Metcalf, WR, Mississippi
017: Drew Lock, QB, Missouri

Zierlein's mock is kind of a worst-case scenario for Giant fans who think Kyler Murray is the only franchise QB prospect in this class. Murray goes #1, followed by Nick Bosa, Josh Allen, Quinnen Williams, and Devin White.

The Giants could very well face this scenario, so in that sense, it's plausible. But Zierlein's prediction of how Gettleman would react doesn't make much sense to me. If the Giants think Lock is the future, why would they pass on him at #6 for a workout warrior WR with limited production and questionable agility? On the other hand, if they aren't genuinely high on Lock, why take him at #17 rather than attractive value/need picks like Cody Ford and Brian Burns?

Early board of the 1st 3 picks barring trades & FA
USAF NYG Fan : 3/23/2019 9:47 am : link
I may or may not do a full board this year. Right now it's a little early as well so this is just the start of a rough draft. The Giants may not be done yet in FA and/or trades before the draft. Also, I really like Sy's reviews and that will very likely alter my choices. Keep in mind, for my draft board I'm thinking about the future of the team and not just 2019. The estimated 2020 cap room of $70 to $80 million means they can buy players in 2020. We will see a lot of maneuvering from Gettleman during the 2020 off-season regardless of how well the Giants play in 2019.

The first set will be for the #6 pick in order. The draft can shake out many ways but I think Quinnen Williams, Kyler Murray, and Nick Bosa will certainly be gone. I like to look at roughly the 5-10 guys that may be there (even less likely ones) near the Giants pick:

1. Josh Allen, DE/LB, Kentucky (This is a long shot I know. Extremely unlikely but someone could fall I suppose.)
2. Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State
3. Devin White, LB, LSU
4. Jawaan Taylor, OT, Florida (Starts at RT and can take over for Solder in 2-3 years. Solder is 30 with 3 yrs to go on his contract but might not make it that long.)
5. T.J. Hockenson, TE, Iowa (Yes it's high for him but build around Barkley. He's an extra Offensive Lineman and a redzone threat.)

As you would imagine, the #17 pick is influenced by the #6 pick. All of the above players are gone except maybe Hockenson

1. If they didn't take Hockenson with the 6th pick and he's still there. It's very plausible. I know this is a heavy defense draft but .... build around Barkley. I love dual threat TEs.
1A. T.J. Hockenson, TE, Iowa
2. If they didn't take Allen or White.
2A. Montez Sweat, DE/OLB, Mississippi State (Based on the heart thing and a character concern, he very well could drop here.)
2B. Brian Burns, DE/OLB, Florida State
2C. Devin Bush, LB, Michigan
3. If they didn't take Jawaan Taylor and instead took Allen or White. If he's available.
3A. Jonah Williams, OT, Alabama
4. If all these previous options are gone (unlikely) then might as well shoot for a QB here.
4A. Josh Rosen, QB, Arizona Cardinals
4B. Drew Lock, QB, Missouri (Might not be there and I'm really not sold on this one anyway. Not a fan but maybe worth a shot here.)

On to the 3rd pick, 2nd rounder #37.
1. Josh Rosen (If no QBs were taken yet. Couple some later 5th and/or lower picks if necessary.)
2. Zach Allen, DE/DT, Boston College (If none of the previous players are still there he would be my pick regardless of who they already picked on defense)
3. Garrett Bradbury, C/G, N.C. State (There's your OC of the future if you take him here. Probable starter OC and can backup OG.)
4. Juan Thornhill, S, Virginia (Probably a little high for him. Great FS prospect but not a guy for SS. Can fill in at nickel corner. Can cover TEs. Good in man to man. Ballhawk.)
5. Erik McCoy, C/G, Texas A&M (Alternative to Barrett. Could be a starter at OC. Can also backup OG.)

From the 4th round pick on I would like them to go very heavy defense. They can sprinkle in some prospects in later rounds. I also want to see them move around with all these picks. Combine picks to move up in this draft or in 2020.

Should use the below link to verify if their mocks are feasible, I think.
Mock Draft Machine - ( New Window )
from my thread today....
ryanmkeane : 3/25/2019 1:33 pm : link
As with last year, I think we can read the tea leaves to somewhat figure out what our plan is going to be on draft night. Last year the love for Barkley was kind of obvious, but the only wrench in that plan was QB. Then, it seemed like OL was going to be the pick in round 2, just a matter of who. This year because of the depth in defense of the draft, and our needs as a whole, there is a little more uncertainty. As with last year I'm not going to go past round 4, as I really can't speak for the prospects and anything past that point is mostly a crapshoot. Also, I'm basing this mock on the fact that we did not trade for Rosen.

Round 1 #6: Rashan Gary, DL Michigan
This not only feels like a Gettleman pick but I actually think Gary has become somewhat underrated within this group of DL. Yes, that includes Q Williams and Allen. Gary is freakishly athletic for a man his size, you just don't see that often, he's damn explosive off the jump and would be a perfect 5 tech in this system to get after the QB but also play the run really well. Local kid and someone who wants to prove he's the best player in the draft, I think he could be a pro bowl caliber defensive player year over year in Bettcher's system. The dude is a beast, and the college production thing, I don't put too much stock in that, as we've seen countless examples of guys who had amazing production do absolutely nothing in the pros, and guys who have medicore production turn out to be great because of their measurables. He wrecked some games for Michigan against top competition. Did he have a great junior year? No, he didn't. But Nick Bosa hardly played at all this past year, I don't see anyone talking about that.

Round 1 #17: Montez Sweat, DE/OLB Mississippi State
Something tells me he's going to fall to this pick, and Gettleman will not be able to refuse. Someone who probably could have been considered at #6 is available in this slot because of the heart issue. Imagine Gary/Tomlinson/Hill with Sweat interchanging with Golden and Carter coming off the edge. That's pretty good, actually really good, and totally transforms this awful pass rush we've been accustom to recently. With Golden only signing a 1 year deal and somewhat up in the air how he's going to perform based on the knee, this is also a great pick in case Golden disappoints. But even if he doesn't, it's still a great option to have.

Round 2 #37: Dalton Risner, RT/C Kansas State
Hernandez part 2, only this time Risner is a little more versatile. He can be our opening day starter at RT and hopefully does great there. Ultimately, he may even be best at C, where we could move him over in 2020. In any event, this guy is a football player, worker, and lunch pail kinda guy similar to Hernandez. No nonsense, just put me anywhere on the line and I'll go to work. Solder-Hernandez-Pio-Zeitler-Risner for 2019 and then an option for Risner to move over to Center in 2020, with our cap space we will have, will have plenty of funds to see which RTs are on the market. I have a feeling he will be a very good RT though, so the hope is that we find our RT of the future in this guy. I don't think Ford will be available with this pick, and I would take him over Risner if he was available. Can Risner be an elite RT? It's possible, but he might just be a B+/A- kind of player and this is what we need.

Round 3 #95: Amani Hooker, S Iowa
I think Hooker is an underrated safety in this class. After a great combine, folks started paying attention. Dude has great ball skills, and is really instinctive. He can be a guy who plays a decent amount this year while Bethea and Peppers show him the ropes, but I actually think he will get a ton of playing time in multiple roles. He can play nickel, he can play deep safety. He has great size and is a thumper as well, something Gettleman will love. Dude is a player and the more guys we have like this in the secondary the better.

Round 4 #108: Tytus Howard, OL Alabama State
Not sure if he will be available with this pick, but I have a feeling he might be, in which case Gettleman should sprint up there and get this guy in the mix. He would compete with Risner for the starting RT role, and would be a great option as a swing tackle and possibly starter in 2020 once we figure out the center position. The more big bodies and talent we have to compete to make this OL the best it can be, the better. If Howard can be a long term solution at RT after some work that he will need, then this pick will be a home run.

So there we have it. We kick the can on QB for 2020, but I think we really upgrade the DL and OL significantly with these first 5 picks, and add a player in the secondary that can be an impact guy sparingly in his first season, and really come around in year 2, similar to Carter.

Have at it...

There's things to worry about, mainly what position he fits for his size on this defense, but don't worry about production. He was used horribly at Michigan

Premise: we draft a back up QB this year and keep our powder dry for a Franchise QB in the 2020 draft, when options are better; we rebuild the D in the meantime and look for RT and C in later rounds.

Breeze_94 : 3/27/2019 11:17 pm : link
that it comes down to Montez Sweat and Rashan Gary..this is just my gut feeling (assuming Murray, Q. Williams, Allen, Bosa are all gone). Not sure the Giants view Oliver or Burns as a fit due to size but they will be looking for a disruptive front 7 player. LB White is an honorable mention as well, but not sure the positional value is there.

17. Daniel Jones or Cody Ford depending on how the board shakes out.

37. Traded for Rosen or an OT is selected

Mid and late rounds address WR, IOL, DL, ILB, multiple CB's, and S.

Riley Ridley seems like a name to watch out for if he falls into round 3 or 4.
I only did 4 rounds
blueblood : 3/28/2019 10:36 am : link
my player knowledge gets stressed after round 3. Done on Fanspeak. I would be happy with this if it were real.

1a-QB-Dwayne Haskins
1b-EDGE-Montez Sweat
2-DL-Dexter Lawrence
3-CB-Amani Oruwariye
4a-G-Michael Deiter
4b_WR-Terry McLaurin

QB of the future, Edge Rusher, OL, DL and CB help and a WR who also is a gunner on Specials.

not bad IMO
Just did a FanSpeak 5-rounder. I really like this one:
Anakim : 3/29/2019 12:19 am : link
1) ER Josh Allen - Kentucky
1) OT Andre Dillard - Washington State
2) I skipped this pick because I pretended we traded it for Josh Rosen (just based off yesterday's rumors that we may have offered a second rounder).
3) CB Sean Bunting - Central Michigan
4) WR Antoine Wesley - Texas Tech
4) LB Bobby Okereke - Stanford
5) FS Marquise Blair - Utah
5) TE Zach Gentry - Michigan
5) RB Qadree Ollison - Pittsburgh

I'd be really happy with this draft. Not a lot of names that pop out, but all are really solid, under-the-radar football players who could be longterm starters at their respective position while contributing in their rookie seasons.
This seems realistic. ;o)
