but is coming out of retirement for Scorcese's "The Irishman." Looking forward to seeing him again - last movie I remember was "The Good Shephard," directed by DeNiro. I think he was in one scene.
once they get some age on them, unfairly. Sex sells and 50 y/o women rarely keep that look. It is what they have been complaining about for years.
Or just because they simply cannot act and got hired for their looks?
There are plenty of "my house is haunted or weird things happening around town, so we need an old seasoned ghost specialist" movies they could play a female role in. There is a never ending demand for those sorts of movies/shows.
Or show up as a mom like Wynona Rider is doing in that one NETFLIX series I cannot think of? Plenty of roles in those films, movies. Not everyone can be Vera Farmiga I guess.
I know she shoplifted, but that seemed like a pretty minor crime to ruin a career. Excellent actress and smoking hot. Also, Mira Sorvino. Apparently that shit bag Harvey Weinstein has a vendetta against her. Another hot one.
sometimes it's the actor who, after making a million movies, decide they've had enough, take a break, and then find they're yesterday's news.
other times, the actor finds that fame is fleeting, the audience and studios get tired of them, and move on. Many, if not most, are of the dime a dozen variety who made it to fame based on being in the right place, right time, with a look that temporarily catches viewer attention and just as quickly loses it, often after deciding they've seen an actor play the same character in every movie (I wouldn't be surprised to see Liam Neeson on the list soon - have you ever seen him in a movie where you wouldn't be surprised to see him do the phone scene from taken, If the script called for it?)

Winona is in Stranger Things on Netflix. Great show and she is part of the reason to why.

Sorvino has a recurring (occasional)role on Modern Family.
Mel Gibson, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, John Travolta and Hugh Grant.
And Katheryn Heigl on "Suits" is just embarrassing. Suits is the world's greatest showplace for bad acting and incompetent writing. Katy fits right in.
what about Nicholas Cage? I haven't seen him in anything recently - although I think he just did some voice over work in the Spiderman movie.
Cage has been everywhere. He was awesome in Kick Ass (2010), he was in Snowden (2016), Mandy (2018 which was awesome) and then a bunch of busts sprinkled in. He also has like 7 or 8 movies in post production.
RE: RE: RE: And this movie was on the other day... Â
I've never heard of either of those movies. The last movie I remember seeing her in was 'What Lies Beneath' with Harrison Ford, a very good & creepy movie.

& the Maguire/Garfield Spiderman movies, but other than that, I don't think I've seen a Marvel movie. Those Nolan Batman movies weren't Marvel were they?

Maybe. But horrifically bad plastic surgery making them look like freaks doesn’t help much. Meg Ryan is unrecognizable. And some women keep working. Depends. Meryl Streep seems to have done ok. It’s not like there aren’t any women from 40-60 age group in movies.
Kind of a thing in the late 90s, was in a few "scary" movies and just vanished.
She is around my age and yes I do remember her! always thought RG was weird looking when all my friends thought she was SOO hot. She was on Beverly Hills, 90210 on occasion. the late 80s/early 90s were my college years and everyone watched all those shows.
Then, everyone my age was obsessed with FRIENDS. For all the weird nostalgia the 90s gets today amongst the millennial crowd, I kind of hated those days.
totally stand up move. expect to see him back when his kids leave the nest.
He was on the popular cult horror series, 'Penny Dreadful' on Showtime, for 3 seasons.
For 2019, he had three movies lined up. One with John Franco.

great reliever.
Wasn't he in that stupid Jumper movie? I remember it getting constantly promoted during the Giants run in early 2008.

Yeah, Merrill Streep doesn't seem to have a problem with getting roles despite her age.
Joe Pesci is spot on. Haven’t seen him in anything since the last scene of Bronx Tale. I think that was after My Cousin Vinny??
1. Get me someone who looks like Robbie Benson.
2. Get me Robbie Benson.
3. Who's Robbie Benson?
Bad is an understatement..good example of what not to do. Her whole thing was the cuteness factor. Was not much else there
He’s in a bunch of stuff, and like sin city it’s been very dark. I think he’s producing as well.

One of the most down to earth, nicest parents I have met. Had his son in a program I worked in a long time ago.

And she was gorgeous in "Leaving Las Vegas"

Was one of my first celebrity crushes. She was so hot in that movie

Ever see "Adventures in baby-sitting" with a young version of her?
Gwyneth Paltrow also. She was an A-List actress and then started Goop and hasn't been in anything since.

I haven't, nope. Saw her in "Hollow Man" with Kevin Bacon. She looked good, but older.

BIG Elizabeth Banks fan
His next movie, slated for 2019, is called the 'Irishman,' about Jimmy Hoffa. It stars Robert Deniro, Anne Paquin, and Al Pacino (as Jimmy Hoffa)
Other actors in the movie are Bobby Carnavale (Boardwalk Empire), Harvey Keitel, Ray Romano, and Jim Norton
she was terrific in small role . . she should be doing more things
Hugh Grant was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2016 for Florence Foster Jenkins
Helen Hunt is returning in the Mad About You reboot
Winona Ryder is excellent on Stranger Things
She appeared recently at some Mighty Ducks reunion thing. She hasn't aged a day
Cmon, man, Ian Ziering has the Sharknado series!
Quote:
Most of the cast from Beverly Hills 90210. Once they left the show, you haven't really head from any of them.

Damn it, your right Greg. How can I forget Tori Spelling's cameo in "Scary Movie" and Priestly's academy award performance in "Calendar Girls".

Had a major crush on her, believe she quit acting to focus on academics, or something like that.

Several, actually
I saw a movie that she was in a few years ago. Man, all I can say is cherish your memories of the movies you listed.
Exception for Phillip Seymour Hoffman, who I loved as an actor. Rest in peace.
And that Madoff movie with Robert De Niro
She was/is in that CBS female president show, no?
Calendar Girls was a guilty pleasure movie for me growing up. Remember guys, "nothing ever happens if you don't show up."
I've never heard of either of those movies. The last movie I remember seeing her in was 'What Lies Beneath' with Harrison Ford, a very good & creepy movie.

No. Different comic franchise.
Sean William Scott
Actually, most of the American Pie cast are decent candidates.
What the hell is Jason Biggs up to!?

Wasn't he in Goosebumps? and Jumanji with the Rock? Some Haunted clock wall movie too. All within the last 3 or so years.

Oh yeah, good call. Didn't see either, but I remembered from the commercials that Black was in Jumanji.

Alan Alda ... just about the whole staff of Mash?
Sally Struthers ...
Jamie Walker
Erik Estrada
Terry Garr
Dabney Coleman
Geena Davis
