GBN 2019 Three-round projection (3/17/2019)...

M.S. : 3/18/2019 6:32 am
...please note Colin's front page prefacing note which includes the following:

"...the actual value of a mock is to give folks some idea as to the quality of player that is likely to be on the board at different junctures of the draft."

Sign me up for the Giants' first 3 selections. You will like them, too!

I cannot get past tye first few picks.

1. No way SF passes on Bosa imo. SF has spent how many high picks lately on their DL? I'd be shocked if they do that again.

2. Miami is not trading up for Haskins. Their own writers are saying they are tanking this year because they want one of the 2020 QBs, preferably Tua at the moment. No way Miami gives up valuable picks this year to move up to take Haskins imo.
Haskins could drop

ound projection (3-17-2019)

scrolling to see all on my phone.
1/6) Sweat ER Miss St
1/17) Dillard OT Wash St (only Ford among all OTs was off the board)
2/37) Jaylon Ferguson ER Louisiana Tech -really? This high? I know the Giants expressed a lot of interest in him but I saw reports he largely underwhelmed at the Senior Bowl? Interesting pick after nabbing Sweat at 6! You hearing things?
3/95) Gary Jennings WR West Virginia kind of under the radar with a great combine, except a pokey 3 cone.
What I find odd in Colin's mock is that he has the

Giants bypassing all those great hog Mollie DL in favor of the two edge rushers.

Colin, is that a scheme fit thing? Don't need top DL for a 3-4? In the height of the BP/BB great Defense era, they wouldn't agree, as the early drafting of Eric Dorsey, Erik Howard, and John Washington would attest.
I hope Miami doesn’t trade up to #5

For Haskins. I don’t believe the Giants want him, but it means we will hear for years about how the Giants once again telegraphed their pick and someone jumped them in the draft.

You take this seriously, about what the writers say? Definitively? Whether clued in or not no owner or GM is going to risk being banned from the league with even a hint of reference towards tanking. so “their own writers are saying....” is meaningless on its face
Oh, and next story Colin posts
Pepe LePugh : 3/18/2019 7:21 am : link
Says Sweat has a new health issue discovered at combine. Heart issue (but not considered severe enough to limit combine participation).
Oomph, my humble opinion, I'm not a fan.

I would go with Gary before Sweat, and if Devin Bush is the at 17, how can you pass him up. And Jennings, I couldn't pass up Isabella in the late 3rd for Jennings.

I would be happy
Beer Man : 3/18/2019 8:34 am : link
with all except Gary Jennings
No OL in first three picks?
Giant John : 3/18/2019 8:43 am : link
A guy with a heart defect at 6. C’mon..
Sorry but missed 17

Still don’t see the 6 pick.

So, have 3 slot receivers - Tate, Shepard and Isabella? Isabella looked great, but they will need outside help.
Anybody else notice that Colin has Bradbury

the C from NC State going 41, the first C taken? Pretty high praise.
Ferguson doesn't strike me as a down lineman

in a 3-4 defense. If that's the case, then he's redundant.

He will go much earlier than 41

Late 1, you’re thinking? I noticed that Walter football moved Bradbury up a few slots to their 2nd ranked C post-combine.
While I would prefer trading the 2nd for Rosen

I would be very happy if that's how the draft played out. Adding both Sweat and Ferguson to Lorenzo Carter at OLB would give the Giants a very young and talented pass rush trio. Then if Markus Golden returns to his previous form the pass rush could be the most improved in football.

Switch Jennings for Hakeem Butler and that is one of the best Ive seen.

New England does just fine with mostly slot receivers. Either way, if that is a real issue, I would think Jennings is a mid day three pick. There would have to be a better option.

No O-Line help before Round 4 when we haven't landed a RT in FA is a fail for me.

Fix the friggin line once and for all. Stop dicking around.

I misread the #17 pick. I retract my statement. I'd sign for that Draft.
We can do better with the first two picks
