Giants are in this mix for Vinny Curry as well, per source. Pass-rushing DE. They also still have interest in bringing back Kerry Wynn after Josh Mauro chose Raiders. Wynn has some options. #Giants #Bengals #NFLFreeAgency
Perhaps a role player now?

He’s got a good amount of football left, especially in a rotational role. He plays very well in the 3-4, as he gets to be kicked inside and use his speed and power against guards.
LOL
HAHAHA.
lol well done
Eric with the pre-emotive strike lol
Slow clap.
Well done.
I understand Wynn is limited but he can be a Dave Tollefson type role player on a good team
Wynn's a HMWG HMBG. He can fit any scheme and is the type of guy that fills a nice role for a team like NE and makes 1-2 splash plays in the postseason to then get significantly overpaid in FA!
As for Wynn I hope that he moves on and receives a solid contract so the Giants could potentially receive another comp pick next year. Wynn played surprisingly well early on but then he once again vanished for most of the season. I would like to see the Giants move on from him and bring in a younger player with upside.
Curry in a rotation with Golden, Carter, and #6 should provide a solid pass rush.

Not big enough to play end in the 3-4.
All players with something to prove that also won't factor into compensatory picks because they were all cut.

could play 3-4 DE or would he be an OLB in Bettcher's scheme?

I wasn't suggesting a full time role but in certain packages he might be a solid fit at 3-4 DE. He's only 6'3 but he is listed at 279 lbs. He's the same weight at Aaron Donald. He is the same size as Mario Edwards Jr and bigger than Kerry Wynn.
Houston would be ideal at the right price. Adrian Clayborn or Curry are more likely options to hopefully be an upgrade over Barwin.
Ok, I snorted :)
Or rush from the inside on passing downs when DT is likely out.
Supposedly $12.6M per the other thread. Can always create more (Zeitler's an easy target).

But don’t now what he’s asking for price wise.

The Giants don't seem to have the money for Houston, not without freeing up some cap space.
This is what happens when you build a roster on an empty stomach.
You're a jag.
Not everyone on the team can be a superstar - Wynn has come from nothing to make himself a valuable contributor on defense and specials. You need guys like that to win
However, money determines if you bring him back...can't overpay for a part timer.
And as gettlemen said today, Patience" in tje master plan, so "Thyme" should be on the radar
Guy just makes plays, I really like him. Seems like the type that would flower under Belichick like Kyle Van Noy.

If he doesn't fill that need, why pay him free agent money?

The smartest thing about Belichick is that he identifies what players do well, and asks them to play within themselves. He puts guys in positions to win.
Kerry Wynn has a role, he's a tenacious run defender. And really gives you nothing on the pass defense side.

Agreed.
Well played.
