Here's why. I am in the pro Eli can still play camp. I admit that. I won't relitigate it but, to me, it was a false narrative he was bad last year. I think he can still play.
Here's why I'm frustrated. I made it CRYSTAL CLEAR the Giants were of a mindset that Eli can still play. It was never a question in the team's mind. Those who bash Eli and think the Giants are wrong have every right to do so. At some point you have to accept it though. Many posters on here act like Matt Lombardo and Pat Leonard(2 Eagles fans by the way) and beat a dead horse over and over and don't or can't seem to accept it. It is what is.
Now on to business.
1. We're not done in free agency. Remmers is talking to other teams. I was told If he left our building. It's unlikely he'll sign but we are interested. The Giants want to win this year and are planning to still be aggressive free agent wise.
2. I'm still hearing a trade is quite possible. Well see.
3. The Giants really believe in Jabrill Peppers. I told you he was a key to the OBJ trade. Bettcher has big plans for him.
4. Stapleton on to something. Gregg Williams D isn't a fit for Josh Allen who's a 3-4 edge rusher. He could slip and if he does. He's the guy.
In either case, what have the Giants done the past few years that makes you think that's a reasonable expectation?
It's a process and DG owes us nothing.
What were we expecting? "Eli Sucks..can't play anymore and I am targeting Drew Lock @6 or Daniel Jones @17"
But they just singed Shaq Barrett.
It IS frustrating. Agree totally.
you should be upset that Reese missed on his OL picks and decisions during Elis late prime. dont be upset because people arent being sentimental about the QB anymore.
Allen would be a great fit/steal for them, lets hope it happens.
He would have been a good short-term fit.
He would have been a good short-term fit.
Agreed.
If the Giants think they're winning games this year, they better have another plan @ ORT... because we might as well punt the season if we're giving that job back to Wheeler.

To be fair, I believe they should have cut Eli after trading Beckham, and pursued Rosen. I know JonC has said NFW the Giants want Rosen. But I still think he is best, and cheapest at that, option.
Hey, all you can do is provide information and let the rest of us process it.
As for FA, I’d rather call it a day than dumpster dive for the remaining scraps. Turn our attention to our 12 picks and any potential trades that might still be on the table.
I’m not holding my breath on Remmers.i don’t think his wife wants to move the family to BIG NYC. Ha
I’m okay with Wynn and or Curry, but we only have 12 million left unless we cut a guy like Ellison. I’m okay with that too.
Eli for anyone that doesnt have a blinding bias showed late last year with just passable (not even above average protection) he can still be an effective QB. And 3 of the last 4 games in which we scored 40, 27 and 35 pts were WITHOUT ObJ.
Eli isnt a guy who has take a ton of inuries robbing him of his ability to play QB. His arm may not be as strong as it was before, but it is strong enough and he can still hit the tough routes.
Sounds like we are all frustrated with BBI at this point. It is clear the Giants and DG disagree and I have come to terms with it. I know Eli will start and I will root like hell for him. I just hope we get his replacement on the roster as soon as humanly possible.
I know they are really working furiously on Ferguson but I would guess #17 (not #6) for him.
The thing I don't get it Gettleman came in and has jettisoned player after player in the name of changing the poor culture of the team
and yet the one player who benched himself rather than do what the HC ordered
- just got a 5 million dollar bonus
until we move on from him - we are going to continue to have bad seasons
What about the dozens of other members of the media who think Eli is finished?
The lengths some will go to defend Eli and the Giants.
Yes Eli can still play given perfect conditions, but I think his days of regular final minute drives are over...
Fans have the same view of other fans that they do of players. "Fall in line, don't make noise, stop complaining." That's being a 'good fan'.
Giants fans are the worst in the game.
What's the false narrative? A large portion of the football media think Eli is done. He hasn't played well three years in a row now.
When does a "narrative" start to become the truth? And what does the writers fan allegiance have to do with anything?

Basically how I feel. Although the possibility of him entering 2020 as the starter is real, so there still is a debate to be had there. I'm a little worried that they are biased in assessing Eli and their roster and are making moves based on a bad evaluation and/or jumbled objectives. It is what it is. Nail the draft and none of that matters.
Two things.
1. Allen slipping to 6 would be so fucking great.
2. From what you've heard, can we put the Rosen talk to bed?

Honestly Eli hasn't been better than replacement level in those late drives in years. Maybe not since 2012. Sure you can point to a game here or there but every decent QB in the league has their clutch moments. It's huge because that was Eli's calling card even pre-Super Bowls.
