Should be thrilling stuff. Mike loved the Beckham move, only downside is he needs to find a new Giants player to put in his doghouse. He wont ask Getttleman a remotely tough question.
Just said he'd be a "real clown not to address it" in reference to the QB position - so, before a lot of people lose their minds over the Eli stuff - I think he knows this isn't a long-term thing.

Gettleman on @WFAN660: "I'd be a real clown to not admit (we have to address QB future)... Obviously the ideal situation is you bring a young kid in and let him learn from the old pro."

Gettleman on @WFAN660 "I told Eli we would consider everything, consider all options... Obviously we've done nothing so I think everyone can figure out what option we decided to go with. Moving forward, he's our starting quarterback."

Gettleman on @WFAN660: "We're not through the process yet... We've got to look at (the QBs) ... Do I feel forced to do something now? No. Would I like to? Probably. But I have to believe it's the right guy to be the QB for this iconic franchise."
"We signed him because he earned it and we turned around and looked at the club and realized he was an asset and moved one player for 3 players. We wont know for a few years how the trade will do."
Lil Wayne interview had nothing to do with it and ownership had nothing to do with it.
Obviously the bit about Odell re: ESPN interview, the other stuff he's lying about - smartly. No reason to turn that into something Francesa follows up on with 20 more questions. That's something he should just leave a lid on. Better off.
He sounds like he's planning on getting a QB in here this year.
Heard the same thing.
But then the subtle backpedal of still needing to evaluate the prospects.
I look forward to the investment of a 5th round pick. Yea, that should shore it up. Im not listening, but if hes not basically done with the evaluation process hes a bigger fool than even I thought.

#Giants are "Very mindful" of getting third-round draft pick in 2020 for Landon Collins, Gettleman says. (So don't expect a big contract to be handed out which could negate that).

Gettleman: Defensively, with what we've been able to do so far, I feel good so far. We're not finished. If you do this part of the year right, you set yourself up to take best player available in #NFLDraft. #giants

Gettleman on @WFAN660 "Not only is this a heavy draft in the volume of talent, it's a heavy defensive draft. I really believe we can fix a lot and get a lot of things going."
Says he took note of Engram's production in games where Beckham didn't play - seems to believe there's a lot more there.
Also said Shepard/Tate can both work together in Shurmur's offense - but, I don't doubt that they'd still trade Shep. Gettleman isn't going to drop any hints on that here in this interview.
"This is a monster decision. The GM has to get the HC and QB right."
"We gotta believe that guy is legitimately good enough to be the starting QB for the NYFG"
"We are starting the evaluation process."

I don't believe that's what he said - I think he said they haven't completed it yet.
Pretty clearly didn't just start the process here. Cmon.

The draft is still a month away

That was about as much of an admission as I think we'll get - he won't come right out and say point blank "we're taking a QB"
Yep but in what Round?
Right now Im unconvinced we take one in the top 40.
DG seems to suggest this his decision in a vacuum...
Doesn't regret decision not to trade.

Dude what? Was so obvious he was giving GM speak. Only time in the interview so far he has been short with Mike.

He was referring to Shepard on the outside not EE.
