So...what "brands" someone a good coordinator?

O Butter Giants 2019 : 3/18/2019 4:19 pm
Just some thought for food and hear me out here. Take Spags for example.

2007: his defense stops an 18-0 Patriots team, wins Super Bowl because he has Strahan, Tuck, Osi, Pierce

He gets a HC job with the Rams or whoever, fails.

He then comes back in 2015 to "fix things" and the defense is even worse under his watch. Would be nice to have Strahan and etc back. Then Reese opens up his purse for better players and the defense is lights out in 2016. Pretty simple, huh?

Isn't easier to just label someone as a good coordinator or coach because they have good players? How hard is that to screw up?

Also, in history, what are some coaches who you think carried a mediocre or bad unit and made them a playoff team? Anyone can tell a team to blitz, cover or whatever when a play is ready to happen but when they don't get there, whose fault is that? the coaches? or the players on the field who cannot stop anyone?

Are there ways to win games with just alone on better planned scheme? Seems as if sports talk is just getting easier by the day.

rule of thumb is that a good coordinator is someone who does more with less.
Someone who knows how to use the players he has...

and not make them try to fit a specific system. Be flexible.
