I think it a no brainers Beckhams numbers will say he had the better career when it's all said an done. However I think Burress meant more overall to this franchise that Beckham did.

Like I said, Burress had more opportunities with better teammates. I get that you're trying to make a point, but you're not being remotely fair.
Would someone mind emailing me and attempting to Instruct me how to highlight others posts in your response to directly answer a specific question. I'm seriously lost on how to do this guys...
Attempting to make a point I loved them both, might even have been more upset about the Burress incident than I am the trade. If I am trying to make a point it may be I got over that so I'm sure I'll get over this as well.
...funny thing is in my opinion we haven't been the same team/organization since the Burress incident
RE: I mean Plax was instrumental in us getting a Super Bowl Â
Place got the attention that game, deserved to a fair extent, because he was pointing at Harris and mocking him, not exactly "Giant" like. Eli won that game, playing far better than Favre in the bitter cold and IIRC windy conditions. Eli had a plethora of well thrown balls dropped that game. He played great, much like he did in the '11 NFC Championship vs the Niners.
As for the SB win, if Plax didn't pull up like a numbnuts on Eli's scramble and throw up the left sideline, the game would've been over a good bit earlier. Nothing but turf between Plax and paydirt and he stops running... SMH.
I think you answered your own question. Beckham's numbers will surpass Plaxico (barring injury). Beckham may also end up in the HOF. Plaxico won't.
But Plax's legacy here is playoff performance. He played on an NFL Championship team. Regardless of the reason, OBJ failed to show up in his one playoff game here.
Is this a serious point? We lost 22-0 and had maybe 100 yards of total offense. What a stupid thing to post
And what is your point? People here kill Beckham for not playing well in his "only" big game while not acknowledging how awful someone like Eli Manning played in his first playoff game. The difference is Eli got to play in a lot more big games and prove himself.
Both of these players are excellent examples of why the illusion of Coughlin as a disciplinarian was so much bullshit. He really failed with these two guys.

To be fair, Plax played hurt, often, maybe most of the year in 2007. With a high ankle sprain! Becky would have sat those games out, almost surely. He's a real puss about playing through injury.
and the Superbowl. It's unlikely I'll be sitting down to tee up highlights of any game that OBJ played in. he never played well in a meaningful (meaning playoff or play in) game. also, he was the most well known media-covered player in a period where the Giants absolutely sucked.

This.
I watched both the 2007 and 2011 docs on the Giants again this weekend. i totally forgot Burress was playing on a bum ankle. Harris was a dog that year and he got torched.
Well for me it’s who played better on the field. No other way to measure that. Yes OBJ had great stats but during his playoff game he did not show up. He also, pulled himself out of the season last year. I’m going with Plax.
He did shit all that game, was severely hobbled almost limping back and forth to the huddle. Still NE bracketed him most of the game, knowing he was Eli's go to Target of choice.
Then, on that game winning TD throw, suddenly NE changes up coverage and Plax was isolated on on one vs Ellis Hobbes...
Eli and Plax read that together, and they might have given each other a surreptitious glance... Or maybe Eli audibled that one at the LOS. But it was clear the moment the TV screen caught the coverage where Eli was going to throw, and to whom. Hobbes stumbled on the play as Plax made his cut, and he was in his own zip code. One of the easiest TD throws and catches to win an SB EVER.
Both played a playoff game in GB. One dominated a Pro Bowl corner. The other dropped numerous catches.
And one won a Super Bowl, making the GW catch. The other didn't even sniff a SB.
Was it really NUMEROUS missed catches? I don't recall it was many missed catches, and he wasn't the only one of the Giants WRs dropping the ball, SS did too IIRC. BUT, they were crucial drops on deep throws, very well thrown balls that should have been long gains or even TDs. Those drops definitely influenced the game negatively in a big way.
Beckham was like an alien. I was at the Baltimore game that he took over and watching him take a slant for a TD was like nothing I have ever seen before. Built for the modern game with his speed, catch radius, and route running.
Burress in his prime was essentially uncoverable. So big, so strong, deceptively fast and a monster in the run game. Perfect compliment to Eli's game, especially at that point in Eli's career where his accuracy was suspect.
Both men's careers in NY SHOULD have been longer and more fruitful too. It's stunning to think of the WR careers that we were robbed of seeing! Plax, Cruz, Nicks, Beckham, even Manningham to an extent.
Green Bay alone when he embarrassed Green Bay for 150 yds in a playoff championship was great. Add in his TD to win the Super Bowl, where he faked that announcer out of his socks.
To me ts not contest who had a bigger impact to the Giants

Best Giant? Plax wrecked the best team of the Coughlin era. Yeah, great player, some epic games, no 42 without him, but the gunshot is an unbelievably damaging fuckup.
So yeah, Plax
Does anyone remember how many catches and receiving yards Burress had in his first playoff game as a Giant? The answer is ZERO.

Might have been the greatest game I’ve ever seen a WR had considering magnitude and weather.

If you're saying who's the better Giant, it's Burress. He actually did things that mattered.

Old school tough guy.
Plex gets my vote.
That's before he became a pawn of Mayor Bloomboob's political aspirations.
so, I have to go with Burress.

It was a batting practice home run type of play.

I just don't recall "numerous".

Burress had a Super Bowl winning touchdown catch.
Beckham was far superior talent.
But yeah... Madden rating :)

I support this message. The difference between a clutch winner, and a fantasy football player
so, I have to go with Burress.
Great post agree.
Apples and oranges. No comparing the 2.
