LIFE IN THE PITS, NFL TEAMS TRYING TO TACKLE THEIR INTERIOR DEFENSIVE LINE ISSUES
While most teams (22) labeled Edge Rusher as their primary needs entering the draft, nine teams (Arizona, Atlanta, Buffalo, Cleveland, Dallas, Indianapolis, Chargers, New England, Jets) listed defensive tackle as their biggest holes to fill. The Browns secured the services of Sheldon Richardson through veteran free agency, but just three other teams followed that route to add depth to their first level defense (Minnesota signed Shamar Stephen, New Orleans added Malcom Brown and the Eagles snared Malik Jackson).
The Jets and Raiders are both coveting the top player in this draft (according to our staff) - Alabama's Quinnen Williams, but New York also has pressing needs on the edge. This podcast features Paul Crane sitting down with Dave-Te Thomas, as he delves into the top twenty defensive tackles in this draft, along with some "perfect fits" for those athletes to reside at during the upcoming season.
