Garrett Bradbury - OC from NCSU

adamg : 3/19/2019 3:39 pm
Maybe the top center in the draft, but also a fringe first round pick.

Is he likely to fall to us at 37 and is he worth that pick?

Do we only have a shot at him at 17 and so he's not likely to be a value pick for us? (I think 17 is too high, but maybe you disagree.)

Or should we be targeting RTs rather than OCs?

I don't know. My thinking is that you can't go wrong having a great center. Literally between Hernandez and Zeitler, Bradbury could really solidify the line and give Barkley a hell of a lot more to work with than he had. I'm leaning towards thinking Bradbury should be a top target in the second. But that's just me...

Thoughts?

(Disclaimer: got to get some love out to the wolfpack players coming out.)
The Giants just signed two centers.

I get the feeling they feel Pulley did an adequate job and they'll let him battle it out for the starting slot with Halapio.
17 is not too high

for Bradbury. He's a plug and play 8 year center kinda guy

17 is way too high. Go look at any board. Read what any scouts have said. You take Dillard, Taylor and Cody Ford before you think of Bradbury. He’s a second round talent. 17 would be a hell of a stretch I don’t think DG has the arms for it
no way he lasts until 37
bc4life : 3/19/2019 3:59 pm : link
He's gone by round 2, probably before 20.

I'm just curious how you can say "no way he lasts". Do you think he's that good? Thinking through the top prospect lists, I get through more than 20 names before Bradbury comes up on my radar...
Daniel Jeremiah compares him very favorably to Jason Kelse

He was one of the OL stars of the Combine. I’d love him at 37 but there’s zero chance he gets there.
Outside of left tackle

center most important position on the OLine. based on all reports he is clearly head and shoulders above rest of class. I could be wrong, but best center in the draft and not one of 32 teams want him? I'd bet against that.

The question is whether he can be physical enough to be a Jason Kelce or are you looking at Weston Richburg getting manhandled by DT's.

I plan on looking for how he played vs Clemson. That’ll be the tell tale in my opinion.
I’m with you adamg

Would love a dominating center. I’m tired of the trope you don’t draft a center that high. We’ll get one in the later rounds. We never do. We never have. I’m tired of watching the center being pushed back in Eli’s face, plus it makes the tackles job that much more difficult.

If he’s a truly top dominant center - take him.
I'd rather wait

For Tyler BadAss next year.
Some players in every draft drop

and he is a center. There is a chance.

Well, we run a lot of inside zone blocking from the shotgun, and the Wolfpack dig zone blocking.

Personally, I'd love to see this running game fully realize itself this year. Our Center position has been pretty porous. I'd dig Bradbury at 17 if he is what they say he is.

At the senior bowl revealed he has trouble with power. Very athletic, mobile guy, but not sure he fits after the Weston Richburg debacle. Another guy that couldn’t deal with power.

Didn't know that, and it's significant. But Pulley has the same problem, and whoever is playing center is going to get more help this season. Halapio is stouter, and may win the starting spot. The coaches and Gettleman seemed to like him. I don't know that Bradbury is in the Giants'plans.

Sure would like to see the Giants pick up Ford from the draft for RT, but likely would take a 1st from what I've been reading.

Is a bit undersized and the last highly rated center that we selected was also a bit small and how did that work out? Richburg was as highly rated when he came out.
I’ve seeen very few mock drafts that have him lasting until round 2
Bill L : 3/19/2019 8:18 pm : link
I was hoping we would sign a FA RT because Bradbury would be my OL pick. I think he still might be. Even st 17: although I’m leaning DL -DL - OL

This. 3 of the 5 OL spots right now either have an 8 figure guy or a high pick. I have a feeling theyll add a 4th guy who will be a high pick at RT then go with what they have at OC.

I forgot about that Pulley contract... 3 yr 9 mill... oh well. You're probably right.

Makes sense. I guess Dillard at 17 is a perfect pick for us.
I'd like Dillard very well too.
