NFN - Bucky Brooks latest Mock

Jim Bur(n)t : 3/19/2019 8:33 pm
GIANTS:

#6 - DE R. Gary (Sweat still on the board)

#17 - QB Daniel Jones

If both pics fall this way, I will legit puke.

Sweat

In addition to the heart issue, the more I read, the more he seems better suited as a 4-3 end.

I wouldn’t mind Gary
Bill L : 3/19/2019 8:37 pm : link
But would double down on defense at 17
I want them to load up on defense @ 6 & 17.

If the draft fell that way
jeff57 : 3/19/2019 8:38 pm : link
I would take Hockenson and Olivet
Gary

Taco Charlton Jr... Blah
Was Andre Dillard available at 17?
The_Boss : 3/19/2019 8:40 pm : link
I suppose I could live with Gary at 6.
Don’t like going QB with number 17..if they don’t think a top ten
BSIMatt : 3/19/2019 8:42 pm : link
QB is in the draft then don’t waste a first round pick one a quarterback.

No, he had Dillard going to Buffalo @ 9
Brooks Mock - ( New Window )
Gary - too much potential and too little production
JohnB : 3/19/2019 8:53 pm : link
I'd be VERY surprised if DG went for a player with a ton of potential and so little production to show for it (9.5 sacks for his college career). He values production.

I'd also assuming that DG will get a player who is known to be great in the locker room (which is Josh Rosen's major downfall).

Barkley has a lot of production, a lot of potential and is great in the locker room. Look for the #6 pick to be in that mold.
Definitely a remote thrower..
prdave73 : 3/19/2019 8:54 pm : link
Awful. Not for giving up Odell.. smh
If the draft had fallen that way,
DonnieD89 : 3/19/2019 9:03 pm : link
I would have selected Sweat at 6 and Oliver or Wilkins at 17, then go after one of the remaining OTs or WRs at 37.
Dillards stock is rising.
DonnieD89 : 3/19/2019 9:04 pm : link
I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t last past 10.
If ''the plan'' DG has been talking about is entering QB Hell...
sb from NYT Forum : 3/19/2019 9:05 pm : link
...then these would be good picks.
Terrible

It would definitely be a tough pill for the Giants if
DonnieD89 : 3/19/2019 9:19 pm : link
the 3 top OTs went before #17. I’m hoping that does not happen.
We take Jones over Lock?
GFAN52 : 3/19/2019 9:27 pm : link
Ugh...no.
The Giants need to nail the next two drafts ...
Boy Cord : 3/19/2019 9:32 pm : link
... or this rebuild is going to take much longer. For those that aren’t paying attention, this is a tear down.
I’d be happy with Gary
Jay on the Island : 3/19/2019 9:35 pm : link
But if they take Daniel Jones at 17 or in round 2 then I would be extremely disappointed.

Puts just how bad Reese & Ross were at their jobs in perspective. Bash DG, but he has a rough task ahead.
I'm starting to think that people who want a job in the sports media
Ira : 3/19/2019 9:37 pm : link
have to take an iq test. If you score too high you don't get the job.
Remote Toss for sure
Bluesbreaker : 3/19/2019 9:43 pm : link
Both ones and our 2nd round pick to the trenches
Would take Wilkins before Gary .

If the draft fell like that I would run to the podium
BlueLou'sBack : 3/19/2019 10:52 pm : link
from California to pick Ed Oliver for DG.
Then move to the top of round 2 for Dalton Risner.

Gary, Oliver, Risner, bing bang boom. That's how you flesh out the trenches with too shelf football players. I'd give up that late 3rd round pick to do it no prob.

Risner wasn't picked was he?

one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. He said that the Dolphins shouldn't feel pressure to draft a QB this year because they passed up on one last season like the Giants did with Darnold. I hope no one in the Giants' decision-making apparatus feels pressure to take a QB (regardless of whether that player is worthy of being taken) just because they didn't choose one in the last draft. If someone like that exists, please fire them.

I would take Montez Sweat, then Ed Oliver if the draft broke down the way it does in Bucky's mock. If Bettcher can't mold the defense to make a talent like Oliver fit, then we need a new DC.

Didn't he have Lock selected by the Redskins?
Nevermind that prior comment about Lock, yeah he's there.
BlueLou'sBack : 3/20/2019 12:09 am : link
I cant say I mind the draft falling that way in general, except for the Giants take Jones at 17, over Ed Oliver who prolly won't last till then anyway.

Both Risner and Cody Ford are still on the board for round 2. Good times, as is Burns.
