on Haskins are inexperience, and he wasn't allowed to diagnose/adjust, he was supposedly told by the sideline.
This kind of puts that to bed.
Where did you read that? I heard the exact opposite. Ohio State had to tweak their offense to him as the season went on as he was doing more for that team than any QB they had before like calling out the protections and seeing the defense very well.
you're creating your own narrative out of nothing, no evidence, or anything that suggests this clip wasn't what it was...which was them having a cool conversation about football and Haskins diagnosing a play. If Haskins knew the "setup" beforehand...who gives a shit. He clearly showed he can handle it.
Simple question - is it easier to look good knowing the test question in advance or having no idea what the test question is going to be?
So your contention is that not only did Haskins agree to go on the segment and knew what was coming in a general sense, but that Mariucci (or someone on the production team) actually gave him the exact scenarios? Hope you've got some proof of that.
No. I'm saying he knew that A play would discussed and he would have to memorize the play.
I don't think so... My memory isn't that good and I remembered the play every part.
a likable guy. I don't know if even the creators of this video intended for anything else. This is a fairly simple play and doesn't really take into account what defense Denver was in, etc.

Honestly, I love Haskins but it would be more of a red flag he couldn't pick that up. I mean I watched it an hour ago and I still can recall the play. Not the terminology, but the actual play.

That's the point. He remembered the actual terminology. He remembered everything. I seriously doubt any of us would have been able to do that.

It seems difficult to a layman, but when you play QB that type of terminology becomes second language.
And your right some guys can't. That is why its a red flag to me
if he couldn't. Your QB generally needs above average IQ. There are notable exceptions to this rule, but it isn't the norm. Generally the exceptions cruise on their superior athletic ability or arm talent.
Of course he's prepped for the segment and ready for the camera. That's a given -- and yet we've seen plenty of guys come off poorly in similar gimmicks.
The impressive part is retaining, relaying, and understanding naturally. The less the mind commands of the brain, the more it can steer the body.
It's a good exercise -- as far as I know the Giants will still be giving the quarterbacks the plays before the games start -- so I'm not worried if he was prepped.

Common operating procedure for you though. Make up a narrative, present it as fact and then tell others to refute it.
No denying Haskins is a good kid, but idk...

Webb's passing pales in comparison to Haskins.

And he talks the part. Says all the right things. Good personality to lead a franchise.
I'm warming to the idea of Haskins at 6. Especially if he doesn't see the field for a year.
