If he is there at 6, he will be the selection. His arm talent was on display today. His lack of experience is the only knock... He is going to be a good one.
the biggest red flag about Haskins is his lack of games as a starter.
But he's about the only QB I'd want to draft this year (outside of a 4th round developmental guy)
This is me exactly... If he had at least one more year starting ... Well he would probably be the number 1 pick in the draft. Still though lack of experience scares me.
He was 45-50 with 4 receiver drops and he was 14-15 in the red zone.
That is also with way more movement than you see in other workouts. It was also without top WR Paris who slipped early in the work out.
You're kidding, right? Movement is a big part of almost all QB prospects. Did you see the workouts last year by Darnold, Rosen and Allen. Darnold, in particular, was outside in the rain rolling left and right...
That shocks me honestly... He looked leaner to me and I figure they would have worked on it.
Not really. He said in the interview he's continuing to lose some weight and all the interested teams will have in for private workouts where they can time him.
to no-way-he-lasts until 6. Damn. I really want to see this kid in blue. But I think we would need to move up some to get him. Utterly impressed by his poise, composure, and accuracy today.

Thoughts on @dh_simba7 Pro Day workout..
1. A+ arm talent
2. MLB pitcher with every pitch in the bag. Drive throws, touch, timing & anticipation.
3. Game/Arm talent fits old school systems
DH is the classic drop back passer who has dominated the league the past 30 years
They just started the damn pro day. They still have to test ALL of the players on the 40, vertical, etc...
I just asked a question.
Quote:
40-yard dash
In a bit of a surprise, the only Buckeye to run the 40 was Malcolm Pridgeon and we wont get official 40 times from the event. Despite Dwayne Haskins saying that hed re-do his Combine performance, it appears that he and the receivers who all clocked excellent times will stick by what they did in Indy.
He was 45-50 with 4 receiver drops and he was 14-15 in the red zone.

No I admit I didn't see Darnold or Rosen because I am a Pac-12 Cal fan so I have seen so many of their games. I don't normally watch Pro Day work outs except for Cals because it is a glorified practice, but I this year I wanted to see Murray's and he barely moved compared to Haskins. In fact they said Haskins did more movement passes to show he was working hard at his movement and throwing on the run and avoiding the rush. If this is standard then that is my mistake.

Nothing more I need to see physically from Dwayne Haskins. He has what I would want if I needed a QB. Will be talking to him on #NFLLive coming up shortly....
Throwing technique and footwork was excellent. He is a pocket QB that can move in the pocket when necessary.
His interview was so much more at ease than Murray.
Important to Shurmur in his meeting last night is football IQ of Haskins versus Murray,
Those Ohio State Wrs are impressive. Either one of those 3 would look great in Giant blue.
That shocks me honestly... He looked leaner to me and I figure they would have worked on it.
Not really. He said in the interview he's continuing to lose some weight and all the interested teams will have in for private workouts where they can time him.
That makes sense... he looks leaner to me than at the combine.
Everyone watched Darnold's pro day last year and afterwards, the consensus was he was there was no way the Browns weren't going to take him. He was the sure fire number 1 pick.
If there is a team out there that wants to jump in front of the Giants to get him and the Cards take Murray, that means another one of the top defenders drops a spot.
RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: I have it NFLN on in my office...
I have no problem with bw - I disagree with him a lot, but it's not personal, we bust eachother's balls. It is what it is.
He's like a fly on shit when it comes to Haskins and making sure there's a way to debunk every single area where he's being looked at in a positive light - so, there's that. :)

Sign me up. Only Murray dropping to 6 would change that.
RE: Who would be realistic competition for Haskins?
Amazing what they can do when there's no defense on the field.
It's about ball placement, mechanics, platform throws, etc.
Yes, QB's have had poor pro days or not hit on a lot of their throws.
I hadn't watched many of them for most of Eli's career, because I knew we weren't looking at QB's at all then. But there have been poor pro days.
They're obviously set up so the QB can showcase his best throwing attributes - but for guys who struggle with certain routes/ball placements, you'll usually see that rear its head.
Due to his lack of experience, I can see him sitting behind Eli for 2 years and learning everything, like Aaron Rodgers.
You don't sit a QB for two years. That is a terrible waste of rookie contract in the current CBA. If we draft Haskins this year is Eli's swan song. And honestly if we catch Shurmur mouthing throw the ball again he won't make it through the full year.
He's a very bright coach.
But he's about the only QB I'd want to draft this year (outside of a 4th round developmental guy)

Very possible.

Skipped it.

Skipped it.

Also said he put a ton of work in on throwing on the move, moving to his left, etc. this offseason.
That rollout throw to his weak side down the left sideline was tremendous. That's a big boy NFL throw - only the WR has a shot at that ball.
And you would be wrong.
I just asked a question.

FMiC is right about BW. Holy shit, he is such a tool.
I've known Eric for a while. We used to watch games together. So he knows I'm busting his chops.
Nope, Murray is a lock for the offense their new coach is going to run.
one thing that hasnt changed...his ball placement is REALLY good

bw is very knowledgeable, has been around forever, and knows football. He knows Pac-12 better than most really.

Yup
All with the exception of Cincy brought in a veteran, but doesn't mean they couldn't make a move to draft the future.
I'm inclined to believe Miami and Denver wait it out until 2020.
Washington I have no idea.
Cincy is rumored to like Haskins with the Red Rocket firing blanks.
The good thing is, if NYG likes DH, due to the quantity and quality of their picks, they would be hard to match in terms of making an offer.
To be fair, people were hyperventilating over Sam Darnold throwing in the rain last year

Miami is supposedly all in on the tank.
Denver and Elway reportedly like Lock, though who knows if they're even interested after acquiring Flacco.

Kind of came to fruition.
Teddy Bridgewater is a QB I remember having a terrible pro day. And he slipped because of it.
