I do not wish this on anyone but that was my first thought.....sorry, Haskin...you do not deserve that
JaMarcus Russell was a guy with a strong arm who wasn’t overly accurate and was documented as being lazy in terms of his physique and learning the playbook. Aside from the strong arm I don’t see any similarities between these players at all.
One thing I noticed shortly into that was how out of breath he was Â
You don't throw with your legs. Ever see Marino run? Fouts? Aikman? You don't pay them to run.
Haskins exhibited the skillset he'll need to execute his game. Not the one the Murray fan boys like but a pocket style aerial assault. He displayed a plus arm with tight ball rotation, accurate placement and a quick release.
before he even started which means he didn’t just start throwing. He already had his workout and then we see him throw so being out of breath or tiredd is likely justified.
especially quarterbacks, it's pretty funny to see nobody actually in the business saying anything bad about Haskins' day while some are fixated on his calves and how much he's sweating.
For that matter Tom Brady s physical demeanor at the combine was pretty pedestrian
Tom Brady was a 6th round pick.
Haskins is to go in the top 10. I think its ok to have expectations for body type for a top 10 pick. He doesn't have to be an Adonis, just not sloppy.Just my opinion.
you don’t sound very intelligent when that’s what your takeaway is after watching. Fuck the throws, improved footwork, and the reports about how well he carried himself (and none about him being tired). Let’s focus on him not being ripped.

Who's saying he looked "sloppy". The actual reports from the pro day were pretty unanimously positive. https://247sports.com/college/ohio-state/LongFormArticle/Media-impressed-by-Dwayne-Haskins-pro-day-130311819#1168170_2
This might be a case of overreaction.

Lol, I am surprised by the hate here too. I guess every guy hating here is hoping for the Oklahoma young man. Well, let me tell you guys a secret.....ARIZONA’s new coach is in love with him and will be taking him number one. Sorry.....
Kyler Murray's rumored weight increase turned into him having bitch tits and a gut by eating burgers and donuts - he then came in ripped with the extra weight and looked good. Haskins looks slimmed down a bit form the combine and looked like a Roethlisberger style QB, fine with me. He will also get NFL weight training so it really isn't a concern.
People spin to whatever they want to hear. He clearly has a top notch work ethic and cares - how anyone can think otherwise is beyond me. Lazy is the last thing I think of when assessing Haskins.

I am not a Haskins guy, but some of the narratives about him are quite funny.
him is that he has a year less experience than most draftable qb's. To me that's a plus. Most qb's improve in that extra year, so that means we haven't seen Haskins' best.
RE: I'm warming up to Haskins. One of the things that people hold against Â

Also that makes it easier for our QB to break bad habits or training techniques ... this is close to a QUALITY lump of wet clay you can hope for.
hahaha you are kidding right.
Good grief

What a lazy attempt at a comparison. What are the similarities according to you?

Of go full Schwarzenegger and get the calf implants.

Russell could run

No he couldn't. He had 254 rushing yards and 5 TDs combined in his college and NFL career.
Haskins had 108 and 4 TDs this past year.
Let’s not look at the throws though, seems smart.

Off of that workout?

I didn't see all of murrays pro day, but none of the clips I saw had him doing them.

Everyone knows my handle, and I'll put my physique up against Eli's any day.
And I'd have been curled up in the fetal position after one hit in the SF playoff game.
Well if we knew that, we would all be GMs.
