stop reading into it that much.. If I want to draft a guy, really want to, I am NOT sending every fucking person I have there to watch him. Haskins interest is more about pushing teams below us and teams above us to make deals.
Not saying the Giants wouldn't draft Haskins but I think they are looking at #6 not a move up. They probably are looking to push teams into making moves. If Haskins and Murray go in top 5, then one of the stud Defensive players falls to us. It won't be Bosa but could be Williams or Allen.

is there to see Lock. Prior accounts have indicated that he loves Lock. If the Kyler/Haskins go early with teams trading up, it would be good for Elway to panic and move up to get Lock. Keep pushing the defensive talent down to us.
I actually don't know if Drew Lock is anything like Jake Locker, but the underwhelming completion percentage is a red flag, even if got better season-by-season.
That BW, has been my impression of him. The quickness of his release, and the velocity he gets with a flick, are impressive. Question with him is more between the ears IMO, and ability to lead.
Everyone knows the arm is there with Lock - he has the strongest one in the draft. He can throw rockets.
The concerns with Lock are accuracy when there's actually players defending the field, and yes, concerns with Lock about how he handles pressure. His production was apparently markedly worse when he's had to move his feet.
Other concerns are a lack of touch in the short passing game, inconsistency throwing the ball, and especially inaccurate on the move.
I watched Lock against Bama and he was pretty poor. I didn't come away impressed at all. Granted, his team was overmatched - I just didn't think he was very good.
That said - guy probably has the highest overall ceiling. He has way more experience than Haskins (or Murray) - he's an SEC guy, so he's faced some real competition (although, he's referred to as a "Lamb Killer"... )
The arm is impressive and you can't teach that. There's a good base to work with here and if you want to dream after seeing Patrick Mahomes, this would probably be the guy to swing for the fences on.
I don't love him. But there are things to like, certainly. I definitely like Lock more than Jones. By a considerable margin, at that.
I'm a fan. I like Murray, Haskins, Lock and Grier. I really think each of those guys has a lot to work with. Really curious which one of those guys ends up a Giant...but i'd bet one of them definitely will be.

Agreed. Plus, I don't think Lock's personality is going to be for everyone.
To me, it certainly wasn't designed to complete every pass. There were some game simulations designed to make Lock uncomfortable.
Ok you know how many times he practiced each of those throws before doing it. He was comfortable but it was designed to make it seem like he could do it and he didn't.

I don't care how many times you practice rolling left to throw deep across your body, you aren't going to complete a high percentage of those passes. I think that is simulated to show athleticism on the move and arm strength.

Yup and everyone (except DG who relies more on film anyways) went to see Haskins
+Athlete with a great arm that will probably be an ok starter and has people wondering if he's "finally putting it all together" after a hot streak a decade into his career.

Drew Lock is Eli in the personality department. I just reread it - quiet, calm, never too high, never too low, not a rah rah type. Sounds a helluva lot like ELi to me

Lock has a lot more cockiness than Eli. And it spills through the screen. Hell, Eli isn't even cocky.

Excellent analysis. I like Lock more than Jones, but less than you do. I would also probably pass on both at #17.

If you can't complete that with no pressure, no defenders, and a lot of practice then you can't make that throw because it only gets harder not easier.
Read into that what you may.

This must tell you how they feel about Lock. Not the contingent they sent to Ohio yesterday.

Missouri is on at 11am
Yes, now. NFLN.
See I thought he said "I'd love to take you but you look too much like a 1950's yuppie".

Lock does have a flakiness about him that doesn't seem to fit the Giants mold. Very candid, loose personality.

I saw that live. I didn't expect that either.
Throwing is underway.
Jesus, he can really throw it.
BTW, JPalmer is awesome.

You referring to the quickness of Lock's release vs Haskins'? Or what?
Where (if anywhere) are Chris Mara and Chris Petit? Mara is family, and Petit is, IIRC, Director of College Scouting.

Yup, Giants are quite particular with the face of the franchise personality wise. Haskins fits the mold , Lock doesnt.
That is a very apt comparison.
that was Jones
