Giants racking up the frequent flier miles:
Pat Shurmur at West Virginia Pro Day today to see QB Will Grier
Offensive coordinator MIke Shula in Missouri today to see QB Drew Lock.
Leave no stone (or QB) un-turned.
I hope they're looking at WVU WR David Sills as well

I think he can be a really nice add in the 3rd or 4th round.
Pretty interesting.

Screams that it is a 2 QB race for the Giants
What
mdthedream : 3/21/2019 10:10 am : link
two QB race?
Grier

May be a surprise.

Some draftniks really like him.
The Giants
mdthedream : 3/21/2019 10:16 am : link
should look at all these QB because one might drop in there lap at the 2nd round as well.
Surprised it's not flipped

Grier is terrible. Lock at least has a chance to be good.
I wouldn't rule out the idea
Mike from Ohio : 3/21/2019 10:22 am : link
that they may be looking at either Lock at #17 or Grier at the top of the second. With the plan to sit a QB behind Eli for much if not all of the year, they probably don't mind taking someone who is not necessarily a project, but may need some work on the mental part of the game which seems to be the biggest criticism of Lock.
Or

Grier has been seen enough by Shula to have his opinion on him set and PS wanted an in person look, where Lock has PS's mind set (whichever way it is) and Shula wants a more in depth look at him.

You have to believe the Giants are playing chicken with the Cardinals (about Rosen) and with the 49ers, Jets and Raiders about Haskins (in terms of trading Jets and 49ers or taking him Raiders).
Really like Sills
Jim in Forest Hills : 3/21/2019 10:24 am : link
Would like him in blue.
Grier
ryanmkeane : 3/21/2019 10:36 am : link
has "pretty decent backup QB" written all over him. Matt Moore type.
Kind of surprised that the HC
Peter from NH (formerly CT) : 3/21/2019 10:42 am : link
is at the QB who is generally perceived as less talented

I wouldn't call myself a draftnik, but I like Grier. He's accurate, can get rid of the ball quickly and, according to Our Lads, led all qb's at the combine in velocity.
due diligence
Burt64 : 3/21/2019 10:53 am : link
i'm thinking the Giants will take Haskins if he there at 6. won't reach to get him.

if someone trades up for him their backup plan is either:

1. Trade for Rosen
or
2. draft one of these guys in the 2nd if they compare to Rosen and keep their picks.
Any links to a live

I don’t agree. If they think he is their guy they need to do whatever it takes to get him.
Will Grier is trash
tyrik13 : 3/21/2019 11:34 am : link
I’ve made it known I don’t like him, he’s just not that talented to me, he’s not a leader in my eyes, he quit on his teammates when he was at Florida, and I don’t think he has anywhere near the arm talent that Lock, Haskins and Murray has. He reminds me of Mark Sanchez, and we all know what happened to him
Here we go.

Adam Schefter
@AdamSchefter
One NFL scout in Morgantown, W.V., just texted that QB Will Grier “put on a show” for NFL Teams in attendance and predicted he’s “a riser.” The WVU QB is expected to meet with at least 10 teams before the draft, including the Giants, Redskins, Chargers, Pats and Saints.
Grier did not quit
Gjfro : 3/21/2019 12:24 pm : link
I went to Florida and watched Grier....he is very talented and can make all the throws. He DID NOT quit on his teammates. He was suspended by NCAA for taking an over the counter supplement and McElwaine (coach at the time) wanted his own QB (Grier was there before he got the job) and told Grier to transfer. Where do you get he quit on the team????
According to Schefter
Beer Man : 3/21/2019 1:08 pm : link
Greer kill it during his pro-day today and will likely rise up some draft boards

What? He wanted to be around the team but McElwain made him an outcast. He pushed him out because he wasn't his guy. In fact there are articles that have come out from assistants saying they wanted to stick with him after the suspension but Jim wanted to win his way.

Arm talent? Yeah not in the same class as the other 3.
Watching Lock

I get a Brees feeling....
a) This might merely be due diligence, or
CT Charlie : 3/21/2019 4:51 pm : link
b) it might be a ploy to secure a defender while others leap-frog us for a QB

c) maybe they'd rather scout these guys themselves rather than rely on BBI.
