2 games remaining against the Bulls. 60% chance at the 5th pick. (LuLKnicks) and they share 14% chance at 1st pick with the bottom 3 teams.
Knox had 27 points in 46 minutes. I think he's gonna be good in 2 years.
Big Meech passes Ewing for most blocks as a rookie.
Ntilikina was held out yesterday. DSJ out another week due to a back injury? I wouldn't be surprised if they shut him down the rest of the year.
Fizdale: I like him as a coach. He commanded this tank perfectly this year. I'm gonna reserve judgement on his coaching ability until next year. I'm not impressed with his X's and O's of the game.
His love of Mudiay is truly bizarre
Hated the Frank pick but his usage/playing time also was very odd for a bad team
Knox has been hot and cold but it's hard to identify what "development" has gone on thanks to the coach. Half a rebound better and better from 3 second half? I have trouble giving that to Fizdale
Mario has been what he's always been
I guess Dotson is the guy you can really point to and say he's shown X growth.
I'm not down on Fizdale, I just want to see more. Says the right things but still unsure.
Now it's up to the ping pong balls. Land Zion plus 2 max free agents and it can be a whole new world next year.
I think Dotson, Robinson and Trier would be excellent complementary pieces to two maxes. If we fall to 4/5 in the draft, Hunter and Culver would be great role players, too. I'm hopeful about Knox, but if you bring in two or three good offensive players, how's Knox gonna help us? His development may take a backseat next year, if he's here at all.
If they hold on to worst record, which looks pretty good right now.
Real potential gut-punch is that Mavs have gone full tank and stand to have 37% chance of getting a 1-4 pick. That will kick back the picks Knicks got in Porzingis trade by at least a year each.
It’s pretty grim.
Yes this is correct.
Pretty obvious knicks told him they were going to build with a young team around him and plans changed to go for 2 maxes and kp didnt like it
I forgot and I'm too lazy to look it up
The two first rounders the Knicks got for KP trigger two years and four years, respectively, after the Atlanta pick conveys.
One of the picks has to ultimately be a first rounder. The other could be converted to a second rounder if not conveyed before 2025.
If Mavs finish sixth worst seed this year, which seems likely, they can't get the fifth pick, so it's a matter of whether they will land 1-4.
And, as noted, they will have a 37% shot.

IF the Mavs pick top 5 this year they keep the pick, top 5 2020.. they keep the pick, top 3 2021 they keep the pick, top 3 in 2022 they keep the pick, 2023 unprotected.... the Knicks get the Mavs first pick... 2 years after it goes to Atlanta. For example... 2019 picks goes to Atlanta.. the Knicks get the 2021 pick, 2020 pick goes to Atlanta.. Knicks wait until 2022. The Knicks will get the 2nd 1st round pick... at minimum 4 years after Atlanta gets their pick, that pick is top 10 protected for 3 seasons and if the Mavs pick top 10 for those 3 seasons the Knicks get a 2nd.
So basically... theoretically... Hawks get the 2020 Mavs pick, the Knicks would get the Mavs 2022 pick and the first non-top 10 pick starting in 2024. If the Mavs picked up to 2024, 2025 and 2026, the Knicks would get the Mavs 2027 2nd instead.

How does the Mavs record this year affect the picks they sent us? Isn't it like if they make the top-3, we get like two second round picks in the future, or something?
