Hopefully the x-rays come back clean - he was actually having a nice spring. But, if he can't stay healthy - he's going to run out of chances sooner than later.
Voit is hitting over .300 still this spring and has an OPS over 1.000.... just like he had last year w the big club.
Bird is going to have a hell of a time fighting this guy off and every little setback like this is going to put him further behind.
His elbow's sore from a HBP and they're sitting him today, and that's somehow a big deal?
He previously fouled a pitch off his ankle and was out almost an entire season. No injury is too small when it comes to Bird. Clockwork with this guy. Injuries just find him
Nothing against Bird, but it just doesn't seem like it's meant to be for him here. It's literally *always* something with him, which is a shame, but at this point..
Is just what the doctor ordered, and his defense has really improved, Bird has an opportunity here, but another injury and he will not be on this team soon, he must remain healthy.

All is good with Greg Bird (elbow), according to Aaron Boone. The X-Rays and CT Scan came back negative. Hell likely play Saturday or Sunday.

Boone said Bird could have played if it were a reg. season game. X-Rays were just precautionary.
Ain't nothing precautionary when it comes to Gregory Bird.
Glad to hear he's all clear, though. I'm #TeamLuke, but Bird is having a really good spring and we could still use him. Especially without Hicks - we'll be able to carry him with Luke.
So, sigh of relief. Glad he's alright. He can't afford to miss time here.
People on the thread may have been a little quick to jump to conclusions, but given his history, it was not exactly unfounded.
No new injuries, please!
Fair. I'm usually not one to jump the gun, but I'm snakebit with this Bird situation. Dude can't catch a break (well, he can; luckily this time he didn't).
"Clint Frazier fouled a ball pretty hard off one of his legs during the fifth inning. Aaron Boone and Steve Donohue came out to check on him, but he finished his at-bat (K). He's now come out of the game. Trey Amburgey took his place in left."

Clint Frazier says hes fine. His day was likely about to end when he came out, he said. He was hit on his calf.

Well, he was sent for X-rays...that's a little more than "sitting", now, isn't it?
To jump to the conclusion that he'd be out for some time, that he had a fracture, seemed more than a little premature to me. As it turned out it was. X-rays and MRIs are done quite often for precautionary reasons, as you well know.

Yes, he did get hit by the foul off his shin. Didn't seem to bother him too much. They pulled all the starters about the 5th.
Hopefully nothing, but I did not see anything to give me pause.
Frazier's timing is still bad at the plate. He definitely needs to get lots of AB in SWB.
LOL, jinx!!

It's pretty sad though. The hallmarks of Birds career...
Swelling... Stiffness... X-rays...
But beyond that, this year they have Luke Voit and 1st base won't be a black hole.
With the Yankees luck...I thought it hit the elbow pad?

Get the feeling nobody on the team gives a crap about these games any more...
5-2. Yanks scored on two walks and a double by Torres..liner to LC just past CF's diving attempt.
Anyway - watching that game was a complete waste of time and electricity. Boone just going through the motions with the ragtag he brought with him.
