One of the best athletes in sports today just pretty much got told he's part of "the rot" and he now needs to process that, it's probably depressing or at least hard to hear. In crude summary "we didn't trade you because you're a bad player, but basically you're a bad person." As an athlete not sure which is harder to hear (unless you're a psychopath).
I don't blame the guy for taking stock and wanted to retract.
I was not on the "trade Beckham" bandwagon (though I wasn't fiercely opposed to it either), but I can empathize with what he's going through right now.

We all get it - you hated him all along. But there are literally dozens of NFL players who are more troublesome people than he is. He's a social media brat from a generation that is almost entirely comprised of social media brats. He's hardly unique in the personality traits that you seem to abhor.

If you want to quiet the bashing, just root for DG to knock those two picks out of the park and for Peppers to become a foundational piece of our defense. That will make the bashing irrelevant no matter what Beckham does from here forward.

Here's the bullshit: you didn't HAVE to deal with anything. You, just like all of us, make a conscious choice every weekend each fall to participate. It just feels like you make that choice with a morbid enjoyment of being miserable.
And maybe it's a just a matter of perspective - I lost one of my brothers very suddenly right in the middle of last season and it reminded me that what the Giants do or don't do doesn't change a damn thing in my life. Honestly, life is too short to be aggravated every weekend if/when watching the Giants isn't enjoyable, so I sat out the last four games of last season too.
The attachment you seem to have to hating the team you root for is totally your choice. Personally, I just don't think it's worth it.

Yes it is. Beckham is a terrific player, but to me it’s not just the diva stuff. The injuries have become a real concern with him, he has missed 21 games in the past three years. That’s a big deal for one of your top guys. Gettleman did the right thing, and I think he really shocked OBJ. I think Beckham said he called him and said “I’m trading you to Cleveland.”

The folks here who got worked up by Beckham seem to be the ones who obsessed about everything he did off the field. I am not sure why anyone cares, but yeah I get it if you can't tune that stuff out. A lot of fans could and did.
