Kyler Murray - Top 3
Dwayne Haskins - Top 3
Drew Lock - 6
Daniel Jones - 95
Ryan Finley - 108
Will Grier - 95
- I don't think Murray or Haskins make it to 6. Either the Raiders take one of them at 4, or someone trades ahead of Oakland to take the QB.
- Lock is rising for me. He is in that Carson Wentz/Josh Allen mold, and I think that type of QB can be very successful in Shurmur's system. I know the big knock on him is his accuracy, but Eli was never the most accurate guy for us all these years either.
- After 6, I don't think it is worth it to take a QB until round 3 or later. The track record for QBs taken in the back half of the first round through the end of the second is really bad. I really don't like Jones at all, but taking him round 3 would be a relatively low risk gamble.
in any round except 1. So my choices would be Haskins at 6, or trade back up for Haskins using our 17 after we go defense at 6
I'm just the opposite. I don't want to take any QB prior to late round 4 or round 5. Then it would be some like Grier or Stidham. This is all done with the expectation that they are a lottery ticket and not someone I'm actually counting on to be our QB after Eli*. Basically, this year's Nassib/Webb/Lauletta.
Anyone that doesn’t want a QB because they don’t like a QB in this draft needs to be reminded that none of us have any idea what we are talking about, especially at this position. This is one we should leave to the pros. If the Giants have a conviction on a QB and take one, we should all be on board and hope for the best...
I don't see any other QB in this draft that fits the direction of where the Giants are going. They like tall, cerebral, QB's who can analyze any defense on the fly (no matter how complex) and make smart football decisions in nano seconds. Jones fits that formula.
Either way, I trust DG, the scouts/coaches, and the front office to make a wise decision concerning the future replacement of Eli.
don't know about all of them, but I'd be OK with Lock, maybe Jones, at #17, although I would still probably pass on both of them. I assume Haskins will be gone by then. I'm OK with Jones at #37. I'd also be OK with Grier or Finley at #95, although again I'd probably take someone else. I'm not even sure they'll be available anyway. I'm inclined to pass on all the QBs this year.

While I don't disagree with your statement, the pros don't have a much better track record with picking QBs than the average Joe does, it's just one of those things...

How is this a description of Jones but not Haskins. Haskins is the most cerebral QB in this draft and is way my physically gifted and way more productive than Jones. Your analysis makes no sense.

+That guy comes next year in the first round.
This for me too but I’m not sure I’d suspend judgment on Lock at 17 and I’d be apoplectic at Jones at 17.

Not against Dwayne Haskins just prefer Lock and there is no way Haskins falls to 17.
